Easter egg hunt

Genuinely not sure if I’m being unreasonable so hit me with your opinions!

Was out walking the dog at a local valley park (quite big). Quite a few families having picnics etc despite signs clearly stating that the park is to be used for exercise and not for stopping to have food or drink. This is pretty clearly unreasonable of them, however there was another family who were going round tying polypockets with notes and chocolate eggs to the trees and lamp posts.

I assumed this was for their children to go round and find on their second go round the park, however when I walked past another polypocket I noticed that the children had left notes for other children telling them how much they missed them. So the egg hunt was for another family. I’m a bit on the fence as to whether or not this is unreasonable of them? On the one hand, it could be each families daily exercise but on the other hand, both families are touching the trees and lampposts which seems a bit of a risk?

I didn’t say anything and wouldn’t have as it’s not much place but I just wondered what people thought - lockdown boredom clearly getting to me! My gut feeling was that it was a bit off but my mum thought it was a nice idea so maybe I’m just being a bit miserable!

Yanbu. People seem to have forgotten that the virus can live on surfaces.

@thereluctantcountless that was my thinking! There’s signs specifically saying to not touch surfaces. It would be okay if they were using hand sanitiser/washing hands I suppose but it’s hard to enforce that with small children!
