Single parent shopping

I’m a single mum of a six month old baby. My parents have been dropping off shopping for me over the last five weeks. I haven’t left the house once other than for a walk. Can I ask my dad to watch my baby for half an hour in my house while I go out? He is retired and only goes to supermarket once a week for groceries.

It would be better to go shopping with your baby.
Shopping with your baby is necessary and in line with the law. Mixing households is not.

I agree, take the baby shopping.

I just really didn’t want to expose my baby at all by taking him out.

You will be exposing him by going out yourself so you might as well pop him in his pram and take him for a walk in the fresh air as the exposure will be the same.

Rain cover can go on the buggy for extra security?

OP, do what you like. By asking on here you'll only be getting responses from sad losers who are literally waiting for threads to go up so they can scream STAY AT HOME.

Your dad minding your baby counts as care of a vulnerable person so do what you want.

lovelydream · 14/04/2020 11:35

The baby won't be touching anything so he's much less likely to be exposed than your parents

Take him with you

Smileyaxolotl1 · 14/04/2020 11:43

pepepig no one has said ‘stay at home’ at all.
