Keeping stuff for the charity shop!

Having a sort and have a couple large bags of stuff I don’t need but is in great condition so want to donate to a charity shop once all this is over (whenever that will be). There is one charity very close to my heart. I’ve put it in a safe place but oh is annoyed saying just to bin it because it’ll be in the way for a while and charity shops won’t even want second hand things now. (I’m thinking they’ll be happy for donated items once this is over surely). My items aren’t exactly covered in covid..

Aibu to want to keep it all and wait? It’s stuff that is in excellent condition. Some items like new!

Just keep what you have until you are able to donate to the charity shops. Many people, on low incomes, in many countries would be glad to buy second hand clothing, in good condition, at a low price. Maybe your husband is quite fortunate not to be in such a position.

I am so pleased I managed to get my last lot of donations to the shop before lockdown. I will be keeping the next lot because it would have been here anyway if I hadn't sorted it out. I put it in cardboard boxes as it is better for breakables, easy to carry a stack, and easier to store in a corner, also saves on black bag waste although I turn the begging charity bags inside out and use those for fabric items if there are enough, especially the ones for ragging.

I have 2 bags in the shed for the shop and I'm sure it'll be added to. I also have a big tip pile and it's driving me insane! Found 2 large moving boxes yesterday so piled it all in that so at least it looks less grim!!
