When working I seemed to get through in an hour what I now get through in a day, with a lot of unessential sitting on my arse involved.

10 times the time and I'm getting less done.

Same here 😩

BeNiceToYourSister · 13/04/2020 21:57

Same here - I feel so unproductive compared to normal. I honestly think I was so burnt out from my normal pace of life that my body and brain are refusing to do anything more than the bare minimum.

wheresmymojo · 13/04/2020 22:00

I'm a million times more productive BUT I was suffering from burnout before (not the first time).

I'm February I took the month off and recovered from burnout.

I actually can't believe how much I'm able to do now I'm not burnt out and exhausted.

Sorry, that's not helpful

managedmis · 13/04/2020 22:01

Same

No motivation

Sparklesocks · 13/04/2020 22:02

It’s honestly a real lottery for me. Sometimes I have days where I feel like a whirlwind of productivity, ticking everything off my list and doing extra stuff like painting doors (!) and organising cupboards. But other days I wake up and have zero motivation, even doing the washing up feels like a marathon task. I don’t want to clean, I don’t want to cook, even going up and down the stairs feels like a lot. My mood isn’t hugely different on either day and I can’t tell straight away when I wake up how the day will go, but my motivation levels vary hugely without warning. It’s like a switch is flicked.

OneKeyAtATime · 13/04/2020 22:13

I have been very productive getting stuff done around the house. Very unproductive with work stuff. One may explain the other to be fair!

QueenofLouisiana · 13/04/2020 22:21

I’m choosing a couple of tasks to do each day. Today I cleaned the downstairs bathroom and cleaned out a kitchen cupboard. I’m taking time to cook meals from scratch rather than throwing something in the oven when I get home.
Planning to clear out the Tupperware cupboard and organise a bookshelf in the dining room tomorrow.

MissPatty · 13/04/2020 22:30

I’m barely functioning.

I’m a single parent and this year I’ve been training to be a primary school teacher. Since September I’ve been juggling teaching all week, planning, marking etc alongside Master’s level academic work AND single parenting. I’ve been up until 1am working and up at 5:45am for school and I’ve cried wishing for time at home... now look. We are all at home, I have no lessons to plan or mark (for now) but I have one assignment for university to write.

Do you think I can? Nope. Zero attention span, absolutely no motivation to write and I’m lacking the reading comprehension to do the research needed. My house is a mess, my children are feral and I feel completely deflated. Genuinely worried I’ll fail the whole thing now because of this assignment.

Dylaninthemovies1 · 13/04/2020 22:34

Nah, I’m still working the same hours. From home.

Still very productive

TrainspottingWelsh · 13/04/2020 22:43

Yes, but my to do list is more of a novel. And although I'm working through it, I've built in plenty of time to do pleasurable tasks and do nothing. My motivation is that when everything is back to normal I'll still have more time for the things I want to do because I won't have a backlog of jobs to fit in.

BigBairyHollocks · 13/04/2020 22:54

@MissPatty I’m in the same boat-studying for masters, working, 2 kids, although not a single parent so very much take my hat off to you! But now, am doing absolutely nothing and have two assignments due but no motivation! Good luck to you-you can do it!

MissPatty · 13/04/2020 23:13

@BigBairyHollocks It all seems so pointless and irrelevant at the moment. Everything is always easier when you’re busy - having this amount of time to arse about isn’t healthy or productive for me!

Balmytissues · 14/04/2020 00:15

As they say - if you want something done - ask someone busy!

I thrive under pressure and appear to wilt like an un-watered tulip when left with nothing to do.

I am also realising the futility of my existence.
