To think that posting photos of massive piles of eggs is in bad taste?

I really can't stand this - people posting their kids' enormous piles of Easter eggs on Facebook (or whatever). Of course I scroll on by and don't comment but I just think it's a bit boasty- honestly who cares how many eggs your kids have got? I don't have an issue with seeing kids enjoying them or whatever but so many people seem to post photos of a massive pile the night before and it just smacks of 'oh look how lucky / privileged my kids are to have ALL THIS CHOCOLATE, aren't we great'. (And yes, I do think the same about the positing of piles of Christmas presents too)

Frankly I don't care how many eggs people have got, and neither does my DD (yet!), but I feel bad for people who feel like they're somehow letting their kids down if they don't have a huge pile that Facebook seems to be filled with.

@Rebelwithallthecause glad it’s not just me, it’s really not very nice is it, definitely tastes cheapo!!

Well done on your win!

Why does everything have to be seen as showing off or for other people’s benefit? I personally like fb because pictures I put in are like me keeping something that happened safe so that if I ever want to remember stuff I can look back thru my stuff....I love it when I get that “memories” thing where you are shown memories from past years on or around that day. I think it’s lovely to be reminded what you were doing that time a year or more ago and I certainly don’t post things to “show off” tbh I don’t really use fb much anymore but when I do it’s for me and yes I do share things with my friends but that’s ok because I love my friends and don’t mind them letting them in on my little life! If there’s something I don’t want to be seen by others but I still want to remember it I post it as private so only I can see.

No issue with it, makes a nice change from the boring superfood salads and vegan "delights" pics - now that crap bores me

People brag all the time, new hair colour, new this or that, the look how awesome homeschooly we are, so really whats the difference with chocolate?

Trapordo · 16/04/2020 07:35

People brag falsely, IMO ! Think of how that amount of chocolate is not only rotting their teeth and destroying their health, but the DPs will have to support hyper-active DD and DS after they've scoffed all that chocolate

You like the term 'healthy' it seems Grin you said it about 3 times there.

Anyway, I think that's a tad dramatic. They won't ruin their teeth and health by once a year over indulging in chocolate eggs
