DP has been off work for three weeks as his place of work was closed for lockdown - don't want to be too outing but it is a manufacturing type situation but absolutely not for essential items. Because if the shift pattern thus entailed him missing 12 shifts.

They were told that they would receive full pay but that this would entail them losing 6 days holiday and that they would 'owe' the company 4 shifts to be 'paid back' later in the year as overtime. It has not been made clear whether this will be at a time the employee chooses or when the company demands it, but suspect the latter. 2 days were 'gifted' by the company.

Having looked at ACAS it doesn't seem that the arrangement is legal, particularly in respect of them being told to take holiday with no notice. Has anyone else experienced similar conditions or know if he can challenge them? He would have preferred to drop to an 80% wage for the closure period.

They're making them go back on Tuesday, on their normal shift patterns, their 'social distancing guidelines' are laughable and unworkable and he's going to be put at risk to do something that's absolutely not essential - just essential for shareholders to keep making money. I am so angry with them.
