To ask for a handhold

My 7 month old son, born with only one full working long, has become very irritable this evening. Temperature, and a mild dry cough.

I had cough last week. Very mild with no temperature and didn’t feel unwell (still did the isolation regardless).

Praying he has a bug/cold/teething. Anything but corona. I won’t be sleeping tonight for sure.

Handholding here too

Would you be able to take him into hospital yourselves rather than waiting for 111?

Tunnocks34 · 09/04/2020 07:36

rainbow we could but if he doesn’t need to go, I don’t want to take him and risk exposing him to possibly more viruses. He’s asleep now and I think his temperature is coming down slightly

Think i would keep trying 111 and stay with him keeping close eye on cough and temperature. As you say you dont want to expose him to anything if this is just a normal bug

Mummyoflittledragon · 09/04/2020 07:57

Good luck with 111. It can take a while to get through.

Have you asked the Gp why he isn’t on the vulnerable list. He sounds pretty vulnerable to me!

AllTheUserNamesAreTaken · 09/04/2020 08:03

Hope your baby is ok op. Keep holding for 111 Flowers

HonkersVonFlapperson · 09/04/2020 08:19

At this stage I would ring your GP and ask for an urgent phone consultation for advice, actually get your partner to do it whilst you stay on the phone to 111. Then go with who ever gets to you quickest.

Greenpop21 · 09/04/2020 08:22

Agree with @Honkers

SunshineCake · 09/04/2020 08:26

I had to go to hospital and keeping everyone safe was very obvious and it would be more so with a baby so try not to worry about that. Good idea to have both of you ruining for help. Take care.

RickOShay · 09/04/2020 08:27

How is he now?

Sexnotgender · 09/04/2020 08:29

Handhold from me. How is he? Did you eventually get through to 111?

Soontobe60 · 09/04/2020 08:30

I saw this last night and see he’s still not right. Keep on trying 111, you’ll get through. Xx

SpillTheTeaa · 09/04/2020 08:34

Keep on hold to 111.
What lovely parents you are taking it in turns to watch over him all night Thanks.
I often do this with my DS when he is poorly.

It could be a range of different things m and I hope it isn't what you think it is. Have you stripped him down to his nappy?

GoodStuffAnnie · 09/04/2020 08:40

Alert, eating and smiling is good.

We are hear to share the stress and listen. You are doing everything right. x

Tunnocks34 · 09/04/2020 08:52

Our GP bless him came out to see him! His chest is clear but he does have a temp of 38 after calpol. GP is fairly sure it’s teething related but has told me to keep an eye on him, and told me to go a&e of he goes down hill Regarding coughing/breathing and not to bother with 111

Greenpop21 · 09/04/2020 09:00
