I am... im furloughed as im pregnant, i was also offered a 3% payrise for me to relocate where i work and that has still be honoured.

nanbread · 08/04/2020 11:58

I am - but my wage isn't huge, so topping up is not much for them to pay. If I was on £60k no way would they do it!!

queeniequeeni · 08/04/2020 12:25

Lots of ppl being topped, it's nice to see!!lots of lovely employers!

Catsarelifetome

Just want to add, yes the National Trust have bigged themselves up publicly with 100% furloughed contracted staff.

What they haven't mentioned, is that they are still deciding whether to furlough flexible zero houred workers. A huge percentage of their workforce as these contracts are literally all they offer below management. So possibly hanging us out dry with zero pay.

My DH is. He works for a big name brewery.

Thehop · 08/04/2020 12:50

My mum is, she works for a retailer that sells clothing and has a food hall. They have kept a skeleton staff as they have closed their cafe and clothing sections and I think they have moved to sunday hours all week for those that are still there.

Casablanca78 · 08/04/2020 13:01

I am. I work in financial services for a small company (who still have income coming in, albeit reduced).
My DH also runs his own company working in property and is topping up all his furloughed staff.

SnowfallSnowball · 08/04/2020 13:03

I have been furloughed on full pay, I work for a charity. I was on a fixed term contract so lucky to be paid in full for the next two months which would take me to the end of my contract. Who knows whether I’ll get a new job in that time....Confused

nedtherobbot · 08/04/2020 13:20

Dh isn't furloughed but he works for a big nation wide company that provides cleaners, school care takers, catering and in some parts of the country bus drivers. They seem to have handled this brilliantly so far. Those who have had to be furloughed are on 100% pay. Although dh's hours have dramatically dropped due to one of his sites closing and the other being used by a very reduced work force his pay has been kept the same. One of his team who has had to self isssolate has been kept on full pay too, rather than sick pay.

We had a food hamper delivered last week and a massive box of cleaning supplies the week before. Dh says the Easter Bunny is due to be visiting on Saturday and that the regional manager was asking about our household and what sort of chocolate the children like and making sure his bunny suit wouldn't scare our youngest. They have also chosen to cover the cost of school lunches eyfs and ks1 students are missing out on as part of the universal free school meals program and contribute towards the added cost of dh's meals since the subsisdied canteen closed and have topped up a pre paid visa card every week. The canteen also donated all it's stock to the food bank.
