When this virus crisis ends do you think we'll be less of a huggy kissy nation

I always cringe when I see Brits try to do the kiss on both cheeks thing - it doesn't come naturally to us like, say, the French. And whilst I'm affectionate with DH, DC and the dog, I don't like hugging or kissing extended family/friends/randoms.

Do you think us less tactile people will have an excuse to keep our distance once this crisis is over or will the huggers be desperate to resume their hugging?

I only hug family (even then not often) or close friends I have not seen for a long long time.

I don't think we are a huggy nation either.

I hate hugging/kissing anyone who isn’t my immediate family, it makes me so uncomfortable.

I don't hug anyone I am not comfortable with. I am very comfortable with backing off, or just saying "I don't do hugs!" with a smile. Try it a few times and it becomes easy.

Where do you work?!

Ha ha, good question. Not so much my current business but I used to work on an industry with loads of conferences and awards ceremonies. Some of these were evening events (and apparently there aren’t enough gala dinners to go around so we needed even more Hmm), but the Kissy huggy climate was OTT.

I don’t care if it’s evening. I don’t care if you’re in DJ/nice frock. I don’t care if there’s alcohol being served, “pre” drinks, drinks with dinner, fecking “after” drinks...this is a professional gathering. Behave like it. You’re working And no, I don’t want you to give me an air kiss and a hug.

Family and friends? Completely different. I’m hugely tactile. It just really doesn’t belong at work. Along with “relaxing” shoulder massages. Angry
