To say that as NHS staff we don't need freebies or gifts

As an NHS doctor, my job is secure. I am working more at this time, and will be renumerated for that. Many people aren't so fortunate and have lost their jobs now or have reduced incomes.

I appreciate the thought, but gifts aren't needed. Emotionally and physically the job is harder now, so kindness is appreciated: if you know any working on the frontline in the NHS now, do check on how they are, offer to chat etc.

I feel like gifts would be better going to food banks, or other worthwhile causes.

I think that for the first time in modern history we are truly seeing how lucky we are to have the NHS. The majority of the public or small businesses don’t have the money to donate to make a huge difference. So we, they are doing what they can to show our appreciation to the people who are making a true difference.
For some doctors, nurses, carers hospital cleaners it may be the easiest thing to grab to eat when they come off a long shift. If you don’t want it don’t eat it.

We donated to the food bank charity online but it wasn't much as all four adults in our house aren't working now and we have three children living here. We always give what we can but I felt really bad in the current situation. My cousin and sister in law are nurses and they're crying every day going to work.it's really small and insignificant but I sent them both a bottle of bubble bath and an Easter egg

Crikey, I sent all my friends a gift who have been working so hard while most of us sit at home. They were very grateful!!!
