Kids loosing weight in lockdown - no school lunches

With all the lockdowns and other exercise related commitments people have had to stop (swimming lessons etc) I am surprised to see that my DD is looking a little trimmer round the waist line (if only I could say the same for me!). She isn’t being underfed or anything like that but it does make me wonder if when at school with the free school meals she was over eating? She was a big baby and a chunky toddler as she wasn’t quite as active due to underlying health conditions and so is probably slightly clinically overweight compared to her peers. She has always been a really good eater and at home we do try not over feed and so it does make me question why she actually eats and portion sizes at school lunch times. She isn't sat round all day but she isn't running daily marathons either, just normal playing round the house in the garden and 1 normal daily dog walk.

AIBU to think she is over fed at school?

My DS eats alot less when he's not at nursery. I guess it's because he's not needing the extra energy. He just seems yo pick his food at the moment. When I bring him home from nursery (where his key worker confirms he's eaten all his lunch, which are the same hot meals as the school next to it) he eats like a horse at dinner too. Eats all his dinner, plus extra toast, fruit and yoghurt.

At the moment, not so much. Could it be something like that? Is she eating less of the meals you make because she doesn't need the energy? Or is she eating the same amounts she normally would?

My dad has lost weight because he isn’t going to his nanny’s several times a week and raiding her fridge!

DS - not my Dad 😂

DS has lost weight. At preschool he gets breakfast, hot lunch with, snack and dinner and then supper once home. Here he gets breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner and supper but snacks are fruit and veg, lunch is light and puffing is 2 or 3 times a week. He also drinks milk at school and not at home. He was a healthy weight and still is, just lower end. If he's hungry he asks for food and it is provided, so I'm not worried.

My DS who is almost a teen has lost weight and is too skinny, I am very worried about him, like a PP he has gone very pale and he is the kind of boy that tans by looking at the sun. My DD is very slim but not worryingly so like my DS.
