Posting a letter?

Quick question as I'm not sure on this: is it ok to post a letter through someone's door at the mo? My son has a letter and drawings for his little mate who lives in the next street, and wants to give them to him.

Is this ok or should I just take pics of them and send them via whatsapp? We obviously all still get post and parcels via Royal Mail & couriers, but I don't want to do something that isn't permitted/is unsafe.

As long as you’re well, it’s no different to the postie.

We’ve been getting fairly regular ‘drop offs’ of cards and gifts from my daughters little friends. I wipe them down with soapy water if they are wipeable. Spray with that detail surface spray. But often she gets there before I get the chance.

Yes, this is fine.

We posted a card through my friends door last week. Her FIL had died - not CV related - and we are very close to the whole family and wanted to let them know we were thinking of them all. Somehow a text didn’t seem enough. Didn’t occur to me not to post it. We walked there on our daily walk and so it wasn’t an extra unnecessary journey. Kindness in these times is so important.

It's spread by contact on surfaces including paper and cardboard.. so I'm not saying no - just have a good think and be really careful.

Have you been out at all in the last two weeks where you could have touched a hate post, lamp post, door handle that someone with the virus might have touched in the hours previously. ?

If you have been completely inside your own home and non of your household have touched anything. outside without thoroughly washing hands afterwards... and you now walk down the road without touching ANYTHING.. and go to the door and post it through .. wearing gloves .. (remember letterboxes can be touched by delivery drivers, postmen, neighbours like yourself) then you will be fine.

Just think carefully. Imagine EVERYTHING you touch could have been touched by someone with no symptoms but carrying the virus.

Gloves are useful because it makes you more self conscious if tempted to touch your face.

If you want to avoid any risk or are not ABSOLUTELY sure about all of the above, then email the pics to his friend . Better safe than sorry.

Hate post ? Surely that's only on MN ? I meant lamp post !
