Posting for traffic really. For about a week, DS (7) has had an odd mark on his toe. At first we thought it was a bruise and that he'd stood on something, but he has had no pain and doesn't remember stubbing it etc, but does say that it's "tickly". It was getting better, but this evening looks a little more red. I'm reluctant to book a doctors appointment due to us isolation because we are in the vulnerable category, but wondered if we need to. My DM has suggested that it might be a chilblain. We have wooden floors and he is a nightmare for taking off his socks even though the floor is always cold, so she might be right, but I've never seen one before and have no idea what they look like. Anyone have any ideas?
Pic is from the day we noticed it.

Looks like a chilblain to me! DD had one a couple of years ago that looked like this, no pain but 'itchy'. I think we put Sudocrem on it and it went away...

I have similar mark on one of my toes. No idea what it is, I've had it years!

KellyHall · 06/04/2020 22:02

Do you have any antihistamines? I'd try that first for anything itchy.

Thatnameistaken · 06/04/2020 22:03

Yes it does look like a chilblain

blubellsarebells · 06/04/2020 22:04

Would you really bother a doctor with this even in normal circumstances?
Its a tiny mark not even hurting him.
No wonder the nhs is in dire staights.

I agree with chilblains. They can be itchy so 'tickly' sounds about right. Pop some calamine on if you have any to try to stop him itching it. Probably best to keep socks on him until it's gone.
