Thanks so much for the back pain tips the other day they're really doing the business!

Can I ask you your opinions on something else?

Ok so for context (sort of irrelevant to this but meh) last year at my back to work interview, boss asked me if I wanted more kids. I was flustered and it was obvious that the answer wasn't no. Well he managed to diddle me out of my job in a way that the union wouldn't touch.

Ok move forward to now. Mooching online and spotted a job elsewhere. Looks nice and is right on my doorstep. However I'm now 8 weeks pregnant. What do I do?

Coronavirus aside of course as I presume it won't be starting until the all clear sounds. Gosh, I coulda given birth by then.

So should I apply? Should I tell them I'm expecting? I'd feel so guilty saying later on as it would probably be obvious i knew.

Vote yanbu for yes apply.

Really don't do this now. You've a job, so many people won't have one soon. Just stay put for a minute.
If you go in pregnant they could easily find a reason to get rid of you that's not pregnancy related.

Go for it. Apart from the usual "a man would.not think twice", you don't know how the pregnancy will pan out, you don't know when they want you to start, you don't know you'll get it. Go for it and cross bridges when you get to them. I got a teaching job and was 10 weeks pregnant as my induction day (was TTC when interviewed). I had a shorter mat leave as I felt it was fairer to the school but have no regrets about going for the job. Good luck with everything and congrats !

There's so much uncertainty, I personally wouldn't. How long will you be in the job before you go on maternity leave?

I guess it depends on the nature of the work as well. If it's something anyone else could do and not particularly skilled, then yes.

If it's a professional role, where you are part of a team and carry a case load or would be working on a project...then no.

It really just messes employers around, with having to go through the whole recruitment process again.
