Sorry not sure if I spelt deodrant right. Anyway I digress....
Just been to ds's meet the teacher and one of the requests was to make sure we take in deodrant for after pe and swimming. This was because some of them were developing and obviously ponging. I just found this a strange request. Only because although my ds does have slight bo. Now we use deodrant soap and he baths every night so actually as long as he does that he is ok. I don't want to start spraying chemicals under his arms at 9 and feel annoyed that I have almost been told to iykwim!

YABU to make such a big deal of it. The teacher is perfectly within his/her rights to mention it to parents, because many won’t have been expecting their children to need it so soon. If you’re sure your son isn’t smelly after PE, you can make that call.

Do people not look at the dates on these things before they reply ?

Mitchum Gel Cream is very good and 96% natural. It comes in stick type packaging.

KimberleyClark · 09/11/2022 20:19

Bugger, sorry.

He can't take an spray on into school, in most schools they're not allowed. He can take a roll on or a stick.
No the teacher isn't being unreasonable, I'm sure you wouldn't like to work in a class room or work closely with a room full of smelly kids.
If children are being to develop and smell of sweat, then they need to use deodorant, it doesn't matter what age they are.

TimeFlysWhenYoureHavingRum · 09/11/2022 22:39

You know water is a "chemical" right?

LBFseBrom · 09/11/2022 22:39

I think it is good. Chlldren of that age do start to smell, I bought mine a gentle one around that age; he always bathed thoroughly before school but would come home smelling dreadful. I can imagine it is bad after PE and assume they shower because deodorants only work on clean skin.
