To have used DH's towel in place of toilet roll....?

So it's my birthday today - but apparently due to coronavirus and DH's work commitments I haven't had a card or a present - I haven't even had a cup of tea. I've done the children's dinner and he's now doing bedtime "to give me a rest".

I'm a SAHM. He has a high pressure job and has been WFH for the last 3 weeks. We have 2 DC and also 1DSC living with us, since lockdown I've been in charge of all 3 from 7:30am - 6:30pm every day - meals, school work, entertainment, daily exercise, peacemaker etc etc - which is fine but everything has to be done in complete silence due to the fact he has conf/video calls all day.

Despite social distancing and barely leaving the house I've caught a stinking cold and am feeling pretty shitty. I went to the ensuite earlier to find a massive shit stain in the toilet and no toilet roll - I didn't realise the toilet roll had been used until after my wee, there's normally a stash in our bathroom cupboard but that's been used up - with a sense of fury I did something that I'd never have considered doing before.... I used DH's towel to wipe. Should I wash it before his shower in the morning? I know I should and yes I will... but I don't actually want to.

That is bloody vile. I love it. Clean the loo with his toothbrush.
Happy birthday. Xxxxx
Your husband is a selfish shit.

CodenameVillanelle · 31/03/2020 22:03

Your DH expects you to keep 3 children silent all day while he works? HIBU

Smilebehappy123 · 31/03/2020 22:04

I hope your on your period
Happy birthday bad ass

madcatladyforever · 31/03/2020 22:08

Happy birthday and yes that is the correct thing to do.

Your post makes me terrifically overjoyed that I am divorced.

Jeleste · 31/03/2020 22:11

He probably wouldnt even care. Grin

You should probably wash it, but no judgement here if you dont.

Ontheboardwalk · 31/03/2020 22:12

StellaEllaOla I'd have called him out on the shit stain and made him clean it up immediately.

Who leaves their shit for someone else to clean

TheWordmeister · 31/03/2020 22:12

Your dh is an arse, but if true - no excuse for doing that. Really pathetic - you need to rise above.

Khione · 31/03/2020 22:29

Put it for the wash and don't say a word was my thought - and it looks like that is what you have done.

OlaEliza · 31/03/2020 22:34

If you felt that strongly to actually do that, don't wash it. Own it.

JasonPollack · 31/03/2020 22:34

I'm confused by your house. Big enough for ensuite, but small enough that you need silence everywhere for him to work?

Personally I'd piss in his cornflakes he sounds like a prick.

timeisnotaline · 31/03/2020 22:45

Yes stop with the complete silence! My dh is taking conference calls with the 1y on his lap and his colleagues all understand. Having to play in complete silence for a day or two maybe but months can’t be good for children.
If your dh complains tell him I’m working hard here and doing my best and encourage the children to scream their heads off for an hour. If he comments you say unvalued employees perform badly, hasnt all your management experience taught you that?

OlaEliza · 31/03/2020 22:51

@JasonPollack I know someone with more toilets than bedrooms. House has a toilet, kitchen and living room downstairs. Upstairs has 2 bedrooms, one with ensuite and a normal bathroom. Madness.

anothernewyear · 31/03/2020 22:53

I'd have used the towel to wipe the shit stain afterwards. Happy birthday

TheMobileSiteMadeMeSignup · 31/03/2020 23:04

Your DH is BU expecting silence. We were being entertained via group WhatsApp the other day from my friend taking conference call notes including updates on one workers child running into a table, needing a wee and other 2yo delights.

TheRoqueforteFiles · 01/04/2020 00:22

Happy Birthday GlitterballGinGin Flowers lets have a wee celebration without the miserable sod !

slashlover · 01/04/2020 00:51

I can just imagine the reaction if a woman came on her and said her DH had used her towel to wipe up piss. He's be called controlling and vile, and we would be on the 10th page of OP being told to LTB.

When it's a woman doing it to a man, it's all LOL!!!!!
