I dont want to call the already over stretched Drs or 111 but could you wise mumsnetters take a look at these pics? I think they are skin tags although the ones in his hairline feel crusty to touch. Should I be worried that he has gone from none to these and a few more he wouldnt let me photograph in a few weeks?

They look more like warts- can you see tiny black specks in them?

GreenTulips · 31/03/2020 10:16

Could be water warts - they have another name

Harmless

DottyWott · 31/03/2020 10:17

Molluscum contagiosum

BarkandCheese · 31/03/2020 10:18

They look like Molluscum contagiosum to me. Basically harmless but annoying.

toomuchlikemyusername · 31/03/2020 10:18

The look like molluscum cantagiosum, a pretty harmless skin condition that lots of children seem to have.
Have a quick google for some hints and tips.

Scootergrrrl · 31/03/2020 10:18

It looks like molloscum to me - fairly harmless but does sometimes spread like wildfire. Try not to let him scratch them as it's the liquid inside which spreads the blisters, as far as I know. There's loads of info online if you google it and lots of suggested cures!

Wynston · 31/03/2020 10:18

Yeap what dottywott says.

Wynston · 31/03/2020 10:19

One of mine had it.....lasts ages they dont seem to do anything.

Punxsutawney · 31/03/2020 10:20

Molluscum?

GreenTulips · 31/03/2020 10:20

If you can get hold of this - wash on leave a min and wash off

I used to do it at the end of a bath so they don’t sit in the water, and they went after 2 weeks

Otherwise could be years as doctors won’t do anything.

Ya molluscum, really contagious but basically harmless. They can leave little dent/hole like scars, DD had them on her face bless her.

SarahTancredi · 31/03/2020 10:21

Yeah that looks like.molloscum.

Try to make sure he doesnt scratch as they can become infected and you will struggle to get a drs appointment.

Buutercupdawn · 31/03/2020 10:25

Agree with others, molluscum. My dc had them for about 18 months. Needed a course of antibiotics once as the tops came off from rubbing clothes and became infected. Otherwise harmless.

Longdistance · 31/03/2020 10:33

That’s molluscum. It went through the school I work in fast. The kids had to cover it up, and wore rashies for swimming.

Hope he doesn’t have them for too long.

endoflevelbaddy · 31/03/2020 10:49

Yup, molluscum. You can get molludab on amazon which cleared up my daughters in a few weeks.

Bunnybigears · 31/03/2020 11:43

Well that's a new one on me but he is prone to verrucas, warts etc so makes sense he would end up with these as well!

There are treatments for molluscm on Amazon that people have had success with.

LadyofMisrule · 31/03/2020 12:43

Keep an eye on them and make sure they are completely healed. My daughter had one that became infected and needed antibiotics. We thought it had healed, but then realised an abscess had formed under the skin that then burst. It took 8 months of packing, honey dressing, anti-granularisation dressing, and really strong antibiotics to heal. "Mummy, what is all this green stuff oozing out of my leg" is a phrase I never want to hear again.
