during lockdown? Would like some ideas for teens and adults please.

DS is the end of May but we are going to celebrate this weekend whilst we know we can get cake, cards and alcohol easily (he’s over 18) spent a bit more on his present and going to hire a movie of his choice.

LadyLindaT · 30/03/2020 18:28

Mine's in April. I am planning to use my last egg to make a Betty Crocker chocolate cake and Facetime my daughter when I blow out the candle on it.

Wilhelminawonka · 30/03/2020 18:32

We're still having a party but over zoom :
Fancy dress
Bingo
Talent show
Karaoke

Favourite dinner
Make a cake
Family sized paddling pool which I'll fill from the hot water tap so kids can go swimming
Treasure hunt for presents

Redshoeblueshoe · 30/03/2020 18:33

Hattie that's a great idea.

EmmiJay · 30/03/2020 18:36

DD is turning 6 this weekend. I had Tinseltown booked for half her class and family. SO! Thats out the window. I'm decorating the living room in unicorn tatt, balloons, streamers, bunting etc. I'll be making her an American diner themed dinner and we'll Zoom with the rest of the family.

TwoZeroTwoZero · 30/03/2020 18:47

Birthday cake, favourite film, some fizzy pop and group video chats with add many friends and friends as possible.

TwoZeroTwoZero · 30/03/2020 18:48

*as not add

Oliversmumsarmy · 30/03/2020 19:11

Ds’s birthday (18th) will probably be when we are in full lockdown

He doesn’t drink alcohol or eat cake. No idea what we are going to get him.

Was thinking of an escape room or going somewhere that he would enjoy that would be completely new, a meal out and Dd was going to take him clubbing but that has been put on hold.

Now I am completely stumped.

Vgbeat · 30/03/2020 19:21

Mine is tomorrow. I'm a bit sad as this time last year I was diagnosed with cancer so was really looking forward to a blow out but never mind. So I will be doing live lessons during the day and then from about 3pm I have an unopened bottle of spiced rum, coke and I'm ordering an Indian take away

Hmmmm88 · 30/03/2020 19:30

My birthday is Saturday I've decided not to celebrate it and stay 30 for an extra year instead

JaceLancs · 30/03/2020 19:47

Mine is this week
DS and I are going to get a takeaway and hopefully a nice dessert with weekly shop
I will share a bottle of Prosecco with him and treat mystified to a few margaritas
I will ring DM
I will FaceTime DP
I will face time DD when I’m opening the few presents that were bought in advance
Hoping for a few moon pig cards
I’m going to put on a nice outfit n do my hair and wear my highest heels
When this is all over I will re book the weekend away with DP that was planned

twinmum2017 · 30/03/2020 20:29

@Hattie78 I haven't tried it but apparently Alexa has some escape room type games so might be worth checking out if you have one

JaceLancs · 30/03/2020 20:38

To ask what you’ve been doing in your very bored moments
I’m busy working from home Monday to Friday so not too bad
Saturday I washed all the glass shades from my light fittings
Sunday I cleaned out the pebble pool and tidied 2 cupboards
I’m thinking of hand washing woollens next and maybe curtains after that!

JaceLancs · 30/03/2020 20:39

Sorry wrong place that was meant to be a new thread
Anyone know how I can move it?

SuperMeerkat · 30/03/2020 21:11

It’s mine and DH’s birthdays within 3 weeks of each other. DH’s is a biggie and I had a secret group chat going with family and friends for a party, now cancelled 😥 We’ll do something at home I guess.

aawcmon · 31/03/2020 00:46

My daughter's 15th yesterday, we had balloons, nice dinner, breakfast in bed, etc. Also used an app called kahoot where you can make up multiple choice quizzes on anything you want ....each person answers using their phone, good fun.

Cissyandflora · 31/03/2020 01:41

We will be having four birthdays in the next few weeks. Not sure yet how to do it. I’ll mark cakes though.

carnivalisover · 31/03/2020 02:07

DS is 21 in April, he’s locked down in London. I can’t see that we’ll be able to do anything. He has a flatmate, they’ll maybe make the best of it. And 2 says before his 21st is my in-laws 50th anniversary. They’ve had to cancel everything.

MovinOnUp · 31/03/2020 02:22

My DS has his 9th birthday on 5th May.
We are going to take him breakfast in bed, Give him his presents.
Don't know what we'll be able to do during the day but we'll make his favourite dinner and let him choose the movie and snacks.

FizzyPink · 01/04/2020 12:21

My birthday was yesterday and just a few things which made it really lovely -
Having cards and presents posted to me
Friends who had flowers delivered, highly recommend Bloom & Wild
A quiz with extended family over FaceTime
Deliveroo
Champagne
Fancy face masks
Friends also had delivered NIO cocktails which come in a little packet and you just pour over ice which were fun if not particularly tasty!
Colleagues all signed an e-card which I thought was very thoughtful

Kuponut · 01/04/2020 12:51

DD1's now incredibly smug feeling - we've told her we'll have an un-birthday day out when we can do so, so she's decided she's going to be like the Queen and have two birthdays this year.

Anniecott · 01/04/2020 16:30

It's my hubbys tomorrow, luckily we had already bought his presents one of which is an antri game console, so that's going to come into full use for him and our son, I will make him breakfast in bed, bake him his favourite cake, we'll go out for our family walk, he wants a home made curry with trimmings for tea, which I have already done and it's in the freezer and to rent a new film and play games. All other plans with friends are on an iou so will be done when time and money allows.,
He's actually really looking forward to his day.
Happy lockdown birthday to everyone 🎉

Itsmybirthday19 · 01/04/2020 16:36

It's my DH's 40th in a couple of weeks and I have organised a surprise video call with all his family so they can raise a glass and share their favourite anecdote about him.

Not quite the big party we had planned but it will do for now!

ErickBroch · 01/04/2020 16:46

11 year old brother. I took the day off work so I could spend it with him and let him choose! We played a LOT of football in the garden, played fifa, all the things that he normally has to beg us to do over and over. We then had a nice dinner and facetimed our family who all sang happy birthday when we did his cake :)
