Thinking that two dog walkers were extremely disrespectful?

Because I haven’t been able to go out a lot recently, I’ve spent a considerable amount of time in the garden.

I was out this morning and was pruning my roses (I haven’t had the time to recently) when my next door neighbour came walking by with her german shepherd. I said hi, and she stopped and began asking me how I was. As we began talking she moved onto my lawn. Her dog kept tugging on the lead, and since I wasn’t really in the mood for conversation with this lady, I made the side comment “Oh, looks like she wants to get going” or something similar. Instead of leaving, however, my neighbour unclipped the leash and let the dog off.

A few moments later, another dog walker came by with her two labradors, and of course my neighbour’s dog went into a frenzy, barking and jumping. One of the labradors went up to my neighbour, and of course being a dog person she began petting it and praising the dog.

This lead the owner to let the dogs socialise. They were running around - on MY lawn - sniffing each others buttholes and barking. It was truly gross.

This other dog walker joined in our conversation. Her dogs, on the other hand didn’t seem to be as well trained, and went around and squatted and peed about twice each. It was truly disgusting and I felt so embarrassed for the dog owner. Luckily for her, she didn’t seem to notice.

It just doesn’t seem right that someone could be so oblivious to the behaviour of their dogs though.

I don’t want DS stepping in any dog puddles while he’s out playing. What if they had poo’d? Who’d have cleaned it up? Its just so gross.

There was incorrect use of “slovenly” too.

We'll have to put that down as one of life's great unsolved mysteries.

I was once had a German Shepherd shite on my lawn. His dog just stood there and watched him.

Sparklfairy · 30/03/2020 02:31

You do realise that all manner of animals pee on your lawn when you're not looking. Foxes, hedgehogs, rats, mice, cats...?

PawPawNoodle · 30/03/2020 04:17

@Sparklfairy shhh, I thought you weren't going to tell the OP about me pissing on her chrysanthemums!

ghostyslovesheets · 30/03/2020 04:22

Odd

Macncheeseballs · 30/03/2020 05:34

So we're now saying dog piss is no worse than hedgehog piss? Seriously.

MaidenMotherCrone · 30/03/2020 06:35

British dogs would've shaken paws on meeting, asked after each other's families and nodded lots BEFORE they sniffed bottoms.

MaidenMotherCrone · 30/03/2020 06:39

To be fair how much piss does a hedgehog produce each time?

plunkplunkfizz · 30/03/2020 08:23

“Leash” is a native word from where I’m from and I remember using it in the early 80s.

Booboostwo · 30/03/2020 08:27

Toddler DS once managed to piss on the puppy (potty training emergency out in the garden). The puppy was not bothered, it's just karma OP.

Yup. Piss is piss, love.

GoFiguire · 30/03/2020 14:11

Is OP taking the piss?
