If you wear contact lenses

This isn't an aibu but it won't let me change it, if you wear contact lenses how much do you pay per month and do you get dailys or monthly lenses? Do you get any benefits from paying direct debit? I used to get a free pair of glasses each year and replacements if I needed, haven't had them for over 2 years so wondering how much roughly they'll be and where's best to go xx

Dailies at 45p per day for a pair

£20a month for DDS monthlies. These are the super breathable ones as she had problems with the cheaper ones.Includes solutions and replacement if she looses /damages one.Could probably get them cheaper but we use a small local optician who is very good with my dodgy eyes.

I get monthlies from Boots and pay about £24.

I get free eye tests, free contact lens tests, random reductions on Boots branded products and can get cheaper glasses. Though as my prescription hasn't changed for about 6 years and I've got loads of pairs of glasses I've not brought any new ones.

My contact lens optician regularly tries me with cheaper lenses to lower my monthly subscription but I've not found any that are comfortable.

I use to buy my contact lenses separately and pay for solutions, my contact lens test and eye test, but when my prescription changed I did a calculation and found it cheaper to be on a direct debit scheme.

I use daily disposable lenses from Specsavers, roughly £35 per month. I pay slightly more for a lens I can wear for longer. I used to have monthly lenses, but got an ulcer on my cornea twice! No problems with the daily ones.

I wear extended wear lenses, usually take them out once a week overnight for a clean & to rest my eyes. I pay £15 a month from Specsavers & get them delivered every 3 months, I buy my own solution because I don't use much.

I wear one lens for distance and I buy an order of 12 monthly disposable ( put them in on 1st if each month and take out last day of month ) for about £78 per year. Is the least expensive way I've found so far !
Hope that helps ( nb being able to sleep and see when I wake up instantly, with no faff , is worth a hundred times this !)
