My 5 year old is asleep downstairs in a tent

And I can’t stop worrying! Even though she’s actually closer to me than she would be if she was in her bedroom Grin
She’s had an amazing night, watching Disney, playing her guitar and eating marshmallows in her little tee pee.
It just feels so weird. Am I being a crazy person? Or would you be feeling all anxious about it too?

Sorry, what are you worried about?

DartmoorChef · 28/03/2020 23:42

Assuming she's in the living room and not the garden im sure she will be absolutely fine Grin

dorisrainbow · 28/03/2020 23:42

Mine too in a home made blanket fort 😂 she’s made her 16 year old brother sleep
In it too though...

Biscuitburglar · 28/03/2020 23:43

My daughter is sleeping outside in a tent! I think in your house downstairs will be just fine. Sounds like she’s had a memorable, lovely time. And my DD is 20.....

TimeAintNothing · 28/03/2020 23:44

So long as there are no loose cords or strings that she could get tangled up, she'll be fine. Mine had a living room sleepover earlier in the week. DH dragged their mattresses down and they slept on the floor, I left the living room door open so I could listen out for them.

Pipandmum · 28/03/2020 23:44

What are you worried about? I'd only be concerned if she was a bit fretful and might wake up and not remember where she is. But if this is unlikely don't worry about it - if she does and is upset she'll cry out for you.

Chiyo666 · 28/03/2020 23:46

I think it’s just because she’s in the wrong place. I know it’s not rational but I don’t think I will sleep tonight Grin

You've just given me a great idea! So getting our tent out one night for a sleepiver

BrooHaHa · 28/03/2020 23:47

Go and join her then, if you're that worried. Sleep on the sofa.

RoyalBankOfFuckThis · 28/03/2020 23:47

I'd feel the same!

Chiyo666 · 28/03/2020 23:48

My sofa isn’t big enough and I’m feeding a baby.

Do what my friend did when his children slept up the garden, tie a bit of string round your toe, trail it down to tent,if she wants you she pulls the string.

The kids pulled on the string, but Dad didn’t notice!!

Sounds like good fun.

Chiyo666 · 28/03/2020 23:51

That’s brilliant Grin

She’s fast asleep bless her.

Sounds like she's had lovely day and you've given me a a good idea to entertain DD4 tomorrow! I'd be worried too, but I can't explain why to be honest. I'd sleep on the sofa or more likely make DH do it

I hear ya. After DD had surgery, the OT suggested we set up her bed in the playroom downstairs so we didn’t have to carry her up and down the stairs.

That got a flat no from me. We’re upstairs sleeping and she’s in the next room, not in the one downstairs at the front of the house. I couldn’t really say why, it just wasn’t right.

Chiyo666 · 29/03/2020 10:37

She’s still alive! And I am very tired.
