Walkingtohealth · 28/03/2020 20:44

There was always a drunk thread in days of old.

Resurrecting it.

Sauvignon Blanc going down well here.

I also have gin and tonic...not just any tonic...Fever Tree tonic.

Cheers.

@stophuggingme that sounds awesome.
My dogs are likely to wake me at 5am so this is my last glass. Sad

butterwithtoast · 28/03/2020 21:38

Derry girls and gin over here. The only way to get through the current situation! Cheers Wine

PennyGold · 28/03/2020 21:39

My local shop has deemed you are only allowed one of every product.. sharp ditched the two bottles of Sauvignon and grabbed a box wine Sauvignon with 3 bottles inside.
I may not have drunk box wine since the age of 22 but it's going down well.

Knocksomesense · 28/03/2020 21:40

Tongiht, we cracked out the champagne that we were given on our wedding day. End of the world so we might as well Grin

stophuggingme · 28/03/2020 21:42

@Wolfiefan my dog will be asleep then she’s not an early bird but the kids are all up by 6
One of my three cats has now joined the dog. I am now trapped and need the loo.
Enjoy the wine

Bluewavescrashing · 28/03/2020 21:44

I miss the rabbit though.

On the sofa he snuggles under my cardigan and makes happy noises.

He is not allowed in my bed as he wees in it.

But I wuv him and his cuddly cuteness 😍

cardibach · 28/03/2020 21:45

Had gin and red wine. Watching Louis Theroux documentaries and landed up with him and the Nazis. Very uncomfortable. Takes your mind off stuff though...

glueandstick · 28/03/2020 21:47

Im watching about mass murderes and drinking gin.

Make me feel better. I need a wee.

glueandstick · 28/03/2020 21:49

That judgemental health woman on the briefing the other day suggested we make the moT of this and come out fitter and healthier.

I’m getting through a bottle of gin a week.

Wolfiefan · 28/03/2020 21:50

Puppy. Hence the early start.
I’ve spent an awful lot of time reading about crimes and watching crime TV. World watch out when this is over. Blush

Wineislifex · 28/03/2020 21:53

I need the drink. Now more than ever!
Started with some hoopers alcoholic dandelion and burdock then moved onto the Sauvignon blanc
Watched ant and dec which I really enjoyed then last nights gogglebox
Living the dream 🥂

Cunninglittlevixen · 28/03/2020 21:54

Glueandstick - I'm getting fit and drinking, not at the same time mind,

GuiltyPleasure · 28/03/2020 21:55

Currently working through my healthy supply of my preferred wine (Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc). Will move onto the box of Pino Grigio when necessary in a couple of weeks & then worst case scenario there's a few bottles of Chardonnay (gifted) that I'd only usually use for cooking. I'm pretty much sorted for at least the next couple of 3 months.
I'll raise a glass in the company of mumsnetters who don't think that more than a thimble full at Christmas or special occasions means we have an alcohol problem 🥂

Walkingtohealth · 28/03/2020 21:57

12% wine, that’s basically juice made me laugh out loud.

I’ve run out of wine and have started on gin,
DH complaining as apparently when I drink I kick him in bed. He’d be bored if he hadn’t married me,

ZeldaPrincessOfHyrule · 28/03/2020 21:58

Yeah I'm genuinely scared about a future where alcohol is deemed a non-essential and I can't buy any more.

I don't have any boxes of wine.

Anyone got a recipe for bathtub gin?

MrsSnitchnose · 28/03/2020 22:04

Can join just as an observer? I don't drink but this thread will no doubt cheer me up

paxillin · 28/03/2020 22:06

Soaks!

I shared a bottle of appalling wine with DH, then switched to beer. Hic.

glueandstick · 28/03/2020 22:09

@ZeldaPrincessOfHyrule

It can be done. But be very careful about making sure it’s done properly. Don’t want any one dying from it.

Now you can make wine from anything. I think I’m going to give it a go this year.

SpringCrow · 28/03/2020 22:13

I went with DP today to help him lug farm supplies around only because the adjunct shop sells booze. Got three bottles of 12% juice and a box of lager. And a jar of mustard, obvs.

butterwithtoast · 28/03/2020 22:15

My resolution to have at least 3 drink free days a week has fallen by the wayside this week. I had a good run, but pandemic lockdown with 2 under 3s is too much to deal with without a nightly gin. It's a blessing in disguise that I can't go to the shops or I'd be stress eating Easter eggs too.

paxillin · 28/03/2020 22:18

My resolution to have at least 3 drink free days a week I think comfortably numb is better under the current circumstances.

YouTheCat · 28/03/2020 22:26

I am drinking something cheeky and Italian. Not getting drunk though I reckon the gin is calling. I'm aiming to just drink at the weekends though I did count Thursday as the weekend as I've only worked two mornings this week (work in school and they're trying to keep staffing levels appropriate for the need).

tobee · 28/03/2020 22:29

Drinking Pinot Grigio here and listening to The Now Show on BBC Sounds

OhMargo · 28/03/2020 23:19

Any port in a storm. Do what makes you happy. This time in our lives is total shit.

Wish you all well folks, and we hope for best.

Zombiemum1946 · 28/03/2020 23:22

Finally got my hands on some tonic so on the gin. Not drunk yet as dd only just went to sleep. Won't be terribly long though 😁
