So... they've had a week or two to think about it, what is your nursery or childminder doing about fees? bearing in mind minimal variable costs and 80% salary relief.

Wrong again. ^ clearly says nursery or CHILDMINDER

Neverender · 28/03/2020 18:44

All charges have been stopped for us

Wewearpinkonwednesdays · 28/03/2020 18:45

Accept pay your childcare provider it would seem.

Wattagoose90 · 28/03/2020 18:46

My childminder is not accepting children (DH and I are both keyworkers) and still expects full payment.

MerryDeath · 28/03/2020 18:46

@Wewearpinkonwednesdays yes hun it does. so...... what is your nursery or childminder doing about fees then?

(whether they are self employed or have employees is not my issue.. )

😂 "Hun" OK then.

Just wanted to point out your mistake, as you were so quick to point out the one you thought I made.

Alb1 · 28/03/2020 18:49

Mines 50% fees, and if you give notice 100% for the calender month notice period, even though they are completly shut.

Darbs76 · 28/03/2020 18:50

Jeez grow up pink Wednesday. Read back on your messages.

Wewearpinkonwednesdays · 28/03/2020 18:50

Sorry, being dyslexic means sometimes spelling mistakes happen. Did it make you feel better though?

itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 28/03/2020 18:51

My childminder (been with 5 years) basically said it's full fees because she's getting plenty of enquiries from key/essential worker parents so basically didn't need us (both DH I been furloughed)

Freddiefox · 28/03/2020 18:54

I read on a nursery owners website that if you receive the three year old funding then you don’t qualify for the 80% salary contribution.
Half of my children at nursery receive the funding and half don’t. Will find it very difficult to pay staff if that’s true.

Healthyandhappy · 28/03/2020 18:54

My minder gave me the choice so no payment til she starts up again. Just end contract asap and say u will restart when bk to normal xx

Bearynicely · 28/03/2020 18:55

Mine wants full fees.
I am going to drop hours at work as full time working with toddlers is a nightmare. I can’t afford to pay her full fees if I lose income too.

I have offered a retainer. She doesn’t want to open for children she doesn’t know (I.e keyworkers children) so surely she can’t be that near to the breadline or she would?

MerryDeath · 28/03/2020 18:57

i wonder if it's because technically DH is a key worker, but I'm currently a SAHM so obviously am keeping DS off. but she's not clarified DH status with me or anything though.

mine was a childminder but she's recently converted to being a nursery and has about 5 or 6 employees.

Our nursery is not charging any fees past a weeks notice which I was really surprised about. DH and I are still getting paid so I was happy to pay something.

jelly79 · 28/03/2020 19:04

No refunds for March. No charge for April onwards which I was surprised about

Bessica1970 · 28/03/2020 19:18

Our breakfast club (who also do fuel childcare) asked us the voluntarily pay 50%. Any money paid will be deducted from the bill when they reopen - very fair I thought.
My son’s after school club haven’t asked for anything yet, and I guess they probably won’t.
