I work in a small office, 2 owners, my manager and then 3 employees. My employer was extremely concerned about coronavirus way before it was headline news here which I was thankul for. e.g A couple of weeks ago we had a meeting and agreed we'd space out as much as possible, we'd already had a meeting about washing hands and wiping down surfaces.
I'm the only person with school age kids. I felt increasingly like I'd be the one to bring the virus in the studio, and this was part of my reasoning when I pulled the kids from school a few days before they officially closed.
Thinking this would go on for some time, agreed with employers to reduce my hours by 50% so I could carry on working and also look after the kids (OH WMH already). This was more than I'd wanted to but hours suited work better. The only reason I wanted to reduce hours was because of CV.
This was agreed on the Weds, I was off THurs and Fri, then in on Monday and the Monday eve, after Boris's anouncement, told not to come in any more but that we'd continue to get paid (no mention of how long for).
I've not heard any more since then. AIBU to think any future reimbursement (furlough or otherwise) should be based on my standard hours, rather than the 50% less I'd agreed 2 working days before the closure.
