to be petrified i'm going to die

Sounds very dramatic i know but i am absolutely terrified i have COVID and that i'm going to die.

I have asthma and I am currently on immune suppressant drugs.

I haven't left the house for 3 weeks other than to run very quickly into a shop late at night when it was empty, grab a loaf of bread and run back out again. My hygiene routine is very strict anyway due to being immune suppressed so i have hand sanitiser in the car which i use whenever i go anywhere and i also spray down any shopping before putting it away.

MY DH is still working - he's self employed and a keyworker, he is in contact with people very single day and although he says he's been washing his hands regularly, staying away from people i just don't see how he could have been as someone he is in regular contact with has developed a dry tickly cough today -the same day that I have developed a dry cough.

DH also has a daughter from previous marriage that flits between our house and her mums house several times a week - the step father is a doctor so still working so in theory it could have been brought here from her also.

My chest is tight and I have been coughing all morning.

I have no other symptoms (yet)

I am on my own all day every day until DH comes home around 8pm

I just don't think that I am going to survive this, a common cold leaves me bed ridden for weeks and ends up turning into a throat/chest infection.

At what point should i be looking out for a fever? Day 1 of symptoms is today with the dry cough, does a fever follow very close behind or can it take days and days to develop?

There was a woman on BBC breakfast this morning who has Coronavirus who said she never got much of a fever.

Do the NHS 111 question screen thing: NHS 111 - if your breathing is worsening, you really need to get medical help.

Op I get a dry cough with hay fever and my dd does with asthma. There are other causes to covid.

Have a look at the 111 website.

These are frightening times but the likelihood is that you will recover if you have C 19.

I don't want to dismiss your worries, but not everyone has an awful time even when they have underlying issues.

I have an autoimmune condition and am fairly sure I might have the virus at the moment.
I have a sore throat that has lasted two days so far and a tight chest that has got worse since the day before yesterday.
Now it might get a lot worse but so far it's been about three days and although my chest is tight and it's really scary not knowing if/when it will get worse I feel ok. I don't have a fever and only a wheezy cough if I breathe too heavy.

I also get knocked out by a normal cold and have underlying issues with my glands etc that make me feel pretty crap on normal days.

I know it's really frightening but I just wanted to try and reassure you that it really might not affect you, or anyone else, as badly as you might think.
