To drop this with police?

I was injured recently due to an incident on out street - not life threatening. Police were with me for six hours before the paramedic came, and it was a further 14 hour wait for an ambulance with lots of morphine and gas and air...

Cannot fault anyone in any shape or form.

Have a broken leg so quite serious but not life changing - can work, keep employed etc.

However, police spent a huge amount of time with me, and person that did it knows were I live- I am worried about resources and repercussions as some threats were made when it happened (I basically asked them to stop setting of fireworks in the street towards houses and open windows).

I am OK, I am safe, but worry if I proceed that I may not be. I also worry about everyone's resources.

I know it is serious but I also think I just need to leave it.

So someone broke your leg and you want to drop charges?
I'm quite sure that the police can prosecute them without your agreement anyway, 8f it's in the public interest to do do.

I’m pretty sure the choice is out of your hands OP. I’m sorry, it sounds awful

@Thatbloodybear Honestly, it's not something I want to do, it just feels like the best thing to do - this person lives very close to me and I am seriously worried about repercussions from the family.

I understand your fear. But, can you imagine if everyone did that?
Anyway, it's not down to you to decide if this person is prosecuted. The CPS decides

Wow 😮 sorry to hear that op that’s GBH and they are obviously a very dangerous individual.
I know it’s tempting to try and leave it but if that person is capable of that level of violence they need to be in prison. The law will protect you from harassment, especially as you have already been a victim of this magnitude. My advice is to get CCTV report any and all incidents. If they are housing association they may well be moved. You can’t let them get away with this! In fact the cps will take this out of your hands anyway.

I hope you heal soon, please don’t minimise this though, you are a victim and you deserve protection and justice

OP please report your safety concerns to the officer in charge, there are safety measures that can be put in place for you, it's likely police will proceed even without your support given the nature of the injury, were there other witnesses who've also given statements? I would earn you that it will take a while as all non remand sentencing has been suspended in courts at the moment
