Hi my little boy 7 has had these for nearly two years now. I tried a lot of different things but we have finally got a method that is working and we only have two spots left. He had approx 80 plus at one point. My little also has a little bit of eczema which was making the spots worst. He would
Scratch the pairs and they would spread so quickly. We stopped all baths and only let his have a shower. Lots of cream each morning and night and the. I would put a bandage o his arm which had a lot. We are getting there. There is light at the end of the tunnel!!

What creams did u use? My niece is covered x

BackyardChickens · 26/03/2020 22:26

Both of my children had it badly under the armpits. We used Bazuka and it completely disappeared in a couple of weeks!

That's super! It is so hard that it takes so long to go, I remember being horrified when the doctor told me they'd go by themselves in a year or so Shock

Thisismyusernamefornow · 26/03/2020 22:29

I know this is a little unorthodox but we would scrub the spots after a bath with a dry towel, knock the heads off and then they would disappear shortly after ad they'd dried up.

My son has just become spot free after almost three years. There was a time when I thought they would never go. Some of them were so painful on his groin. Had to buy boxers not pants to stop rubbing, bless him

bigyellowduck · 26/03/2020 22:33

My DD had them for years. We followed medical advice to leave them- they didnt go. Then a friend who was a GP told me to burst them. We were on holiday and every night when she was asleep I burst them- she did wake up occasionally. They went within 6 weeks.

Tennistime · 26/03/2020 22:36

They don’t like being annoyed apparently. Old GP told me to irritate them gently at just one point around the edge, using a pin. It worked very quickly.

Hurrah fellow molluscom parents! Dd 9 has had it almost a yr, it’s rapidly spread everywhere from crooks of arms to chest, back and now thighs. All the moisturiser creams don’t really do anything. I splashed out £8 for e45 stop itch cream a few weeks ago which seems to be helping a bit. This week I searched for hours and found info about molludub so just spent £23 on that, first application was tonight but unfortunately could only treat 4 spots on her back as the rest are raw/ open wounds.
We put the treatment on and then 1/2 later I creamed her all over in the e45 and put on some tubigrip bandage I bought of amazon, also made her wear long sleeved pjs to try And limit the access to scratch.

I’m so hoping this works as it looks terrible and I’m worried for her that she’ll get teased terribly in the summer. Our neighbour already banned them from socialising together as she’s worried her daughter will get it despite it saying online it’s only really spread with sharing towels etc.

My daughter had these about a year ago. I went to pharmacist and was prepared to pay for the strong medication you can buy, however she recommended we try daily vitamins first to boost her immune system. We did and they worked. After about a month there was a noticeable reduction and they were all gone after s few months. Nothing fancy, just basic kids multivitamins (like jelly sweets) from Boots and Tesco. It's worth a try....

Dd3 had them and we used Elizabeth Arden. 24 hour cream. It worked a treat. Dd1 had them for years and they were very uncomfortable and have left scars.

Flipreverseit · 26/03/2020 22:40

We’re trying the rough towel rubbing which seems to have got rid of some but his eczema is quite angry around the others.

makingmiracles · 26/03/2020 22:43

Just seen your comment Katz, all my dcs have been on bassets vits for over a year now so that’s not working for us unfortunately.
Info online seems to suggest they are a bit like varrucas in that you have to damage them as such to provoke the bodies immune response, IM guessing that’s what the molludub does as it says highly corrosive on the box and strings for a few minutes after application.

Wilmalovescake · 26/03/2020 22:43

Burst a few. It seemed to activate some sort of immune response for us and the rest then cleared up within a week or two.

makingmiracles · 26/03/2020 22:45

Backyards-definately will keep in mind your bazzucca recommendation in case this’ll doesn’t work!

makingmiracles · 26/03/2020 22:46

Does anyone recommend any particular cream to relieve the sting/itchiness? Flip like your dc my dd has very angry red ezcma looking skin around the spots on her arms

That's great but you also need to consider they could just going on their own - because they do just go away eventually anyway.
