Posted elsewhere but no reply so posting here for traffic

I'm having my second baby via planned c section next Wednesday. Nervous as I am anyway with all this virus stuff visiting has been stopped so as soon as baby is born I'll be on my own with no support from my partner.

Can anyone tell me how long they were in hospital for after a planned section please?

Could of left after 1 night but stayed too.

Peppermint tea and tablets (they have a good rummage and you can end up with painful trapped wind), plus lots of fruit etc to get things moving.

Big (BIG) high waisted pants. I also liked c section pants but they are pricy. I found high waisted maternity leggings best after also (rather than ‘below the bump or anything waisted near the incision).

I was really sore for 48hrs, it was a v strange sensation as you have to ‘crab’ around the bed you can’t just sit up. Take all pain medication on offer to stay on top of it, and then it’s manageable. (Take your own also if you can incase the hospital is useless at giving out pain meds like my first, second hospital was on it and I didn’t need them after packing them). After a few days I was fine (some paracetamol but not all the time).

Good luck - it was surreal but very calm.

big granny knickers, and the biggest nappy like sanitary pads you can find, and lots of them, pain pills too and a wheat bag is good too, and as you have a bit of time get a few freezer meals made that you can heat and eat quickly and some easy snacks and single serve drinks that you can set up beside you so you dont have to get up and down and hold your tummy the whole time you are walking.... and dont be like me for weeks each time i got up i thought i was going to split my incision and fall out!!!!!! YOU WONT ( but no one tells you thats how it will feel for a while... YOU WONT) ... so make a nice comfortable place, snacks and drinks can be on hand, have all the nappies and wipes and stuff you might need in easy reach and hibernate for a bit

Take a pillow for the car journey......put the pillow between you and the seatbelt.
It helped a lot!!
