Nannies for non key workers

Am I being unreasonable to think that non key workers need to tell their nannies they are no longer required, and lay them off.
The Association of nanny agencies have told nannies to go to work, but obey the 2m rule. Impossible to do this when looking after babies and small children.
Apparently the government 80 percent may not apply even if nannies are PAYE and pay tax and NI
Lots of nannies working as they have no choice and can not refuse to work. They are putting their nanny families and own families at risk.

These are the last type to get it I'm afraid. The double income, unable to look after the children they had, as never had to Grin

I can't understand why so many parents are wfh, instead of sharing/ working alternate hours/ taking leave.
It's the kids that suffer whilst the greedy carry on regardless, it's shameful.

Yeah I think this is u. We have a nanny and have committed to paying her for not working even though it is not clear we will be entitled to the 80% rebate (the guidance is unclear as to whether this is available only to businesses or to all employers). But we can only do this as I am still working and my dh has been furloughed. I think it’s u to expect people to fire their employees when neither the employer nor the employee wants this.

We are all equal but some are more equal than others.

Bit like the NHS staff who can't get tests working on the frontline but the rich can easily.
Priorities all screwed
