Live stream from hospitals needed on the news

As someone with a family member who is frontline NHS, working on the Covid wards and in ICU I think the public need to see the reality of this virus.

What will it take for the reality to sink in? So many people still so ignorant and ignoring advice.

Several of my neighbours are self isolating....so they're 'only' popping in to each others houses and seeing family!!!!!

I think we need live streams from NHS wards on the news!

Anyone agree?

I get you I really do but people deserve privacy medics and patients live streaming isn't going to force anybody to stay in if they don't want too.

Pyjamaface · 25/03/2020 11:19

YABU

A person's medical treatment is private.

NinetySixer · 25/03/2020 11:20

It’s a horrible situation but come on OP the people on the wards deserve privacy. Many will be catheterised or using commodes let’s just fucking livestream that.

Selfies like the ones I’ve seen of people with Mild cases who look like ‘death’ (blood vessels burst from coughing, pale and chalky) are pretty impactful.

Frankiecandle · 25/03/2020 11:23

Terrible idea. Don't you care about peoples privacy.

And it's funny how everyone and their dog on here suddenly has a frontline NHS worker in the family.

AcheyBreakyArms · 25/03/2020 11:24

Fuck off with that shit.

A) doctors and nurses have quite enough on their plates without having unnecessary camera equipment/crew? on the premises and/or the distraction

B) patients deserve privacy

Mrsjayy · 25/03/2020 11:26

I imagine once this is all over we will have 24 hrs in A&E specials where consent and editing is in place, but you can't live stream a sick person to make a point.

Theyrecomingtotakemeawayhaha · 25/03/2020 11:28

No.Just no.Stay home.
Life is hard enough without worrying about this.

Cacaca · 25/03/2020 11:28

Ridiculous on many levels - the privacy of the patient and the nhs staff should be able to do their job without the hassle of camera crews getting in the way are priority.

PickleSarnie · 25/03/2020 11:37

What will it take for the reality to sink in for you that the NHS is stretched to breaking point and having to deal with camera crews and extra people will tip it even further over the edge.

Oh, and privacy is pretty bloody important too.

JenNtonic · 25/03/2020 11:46

Its a no from me.

Iwantacookie · 25/03/2020 11:47

OP I can see your point that something drastic is needed for a few ignorant idiots. But giving sick people less dignity is not the way to go about it.

MylittleLovebug · 25/03/2020 11:48

If god forbid one if someone I loved was desperately unwell in hospital I would not want them filmed and put out for everyone to see

Whalette · 25/03/2020 11:49

Absolutely NOT.

This is dangerous for staff, patients and families.

Videoing is banned in most Critical Care departments and many A and E departments.

Doctors would quit.

CornishPorsche · 25/03/2020 11:52

Sky News have already been and filmed in Italy:

Link to the video:

Warning - the video is distressing but not graphic.

iVampire · 25/03/2020 11:54

I doubt staff would wit

They might call security to throw out anyone filming

No one whose presence is other than absolutely essential should be inside the units where the infectious are being treated
