WIBU to bring chocolates?

I have to go to the GP today to pick something up. This is non-negotiable, and urgent (and approved by the GP).

They have taken my car registration and asked me to drive into their car park at a set time, then they will come out and put the thing I have to pick up on my car bonnet. So far, so good. Would I be unreasonable to bring with me a box of separately wrapped chocolates and leave them on the bonnet for them to collect? Do you think they’d like this or would they want to avoid for virus control?

Don't do it

HotDogGuy · 25/03/2020 10:46

I wouldn’t - they’ll want to avoid anything that could be contaminated. The packaging on the chocolates could be.
Lovely thought - you could do something after this is over

Thisismytimetoshine · 25/03/2020 10:49

No, of course you shouldn’t Confused. You do actually get why they’re only venturing as far as the outside of your car, right?!

playthestation · 25/03/2020 10:51

🤦🏻‍♀️

Really?

Sunshinedelight1287 · 25/03/2020 10:54

That's a lovely idea OP however they are likely going to refuse to take them as they might be worried about contamination on the box.

Save the nice gesture for when things settle down again.

No!
A wave and a mouthed thank you is more than enough.

Tulipstulips · 25/03/2020 11:00

Yes, I get why we’re doing it. Ok, I won’t do it.

Thing is, anything they touch in the shops is as likely to be contaminated, which is why I thought it might be ok... last week, people were suggesting it for pharmacy etc staff, which is why I thought of it.
