*Ygritte, who cares about blame and fault... i certainly don't... i just wondered why two people feel it ok to send you dodgy messages...

name calling and hostility is not the way forward and does not show you in a good light.*

Oh @Cybernan you're making me laugh now Grin. You do realise everyone can see all your posts and how offensive you were don't you? Because that post makes it seem like you don't...🤔

CyberNan · 25/03/2020 02:42

^
That statement is fucking awful.

bit of a pointless post really as there is no explanation as to why my post was so "fucking awful".

YgritteSnow · 25/03/2020 02:44

You're probably right @Beerincomechampagnetastes. I should try and I get some sleep. I shouldn't even be on here at this time of night but I can't sleep as I feel asleep on the sofa between 7 and 8.30 - a sleep ruining nap sadly. Thanks for your kind posts Smile

Willyoujustbequiet · 25/03/2020 02:47

Its not you ygritte. That was a disgraceful comment that was wholly misogynistic.

I actually think the opposite. That cheating will decrease. A mixture of lack of opportunity combined with more important things to worry about and even the chance to reconnect.

ALongHardWinter · 25/03/2020 02:47

AngryTruckDriver Yes,probably, knowing him. But then he never was exactly blessed with common sense.

CyberNan · 25/03/2020 02:49

its good that you are able to laugh... its not worth getting your knickers in a knot about. this is just a thread and of course i understand that people can read my posts... that's why i post them.

my view has not changed though.

YgritteSnow · 25/03/2020 02:56

my view has not changed though.

I never for a moment expected it to. People I have known with those kind of views are usually unable to tolerate being challenged and will stubbornly dig in to their position making further discussion pointless. It's useful to know though because now I know I don't need to take you seriously or entertain your contributions whenever I see any of your posts in future.

CyberNan · 25/03/2020 03:09

i think that is a splendid way forward Ygritte. well done on reaching a conclusion that you are happy with.

YgritteSnow · 25/03/2020 03:12
Wink
sofato5miles · 25/03/2020 03:13

CyberNan, your opinions are shocking and misogynistic. HTH you to understand.

I wonder if you see women as guardians of sexual morality etc

CyberNan · 25/03/2020 03:25

apparently my posts are also "fucking awful" as well as "shocking and misogynistic"

it would be helpful if you were able to say why.

why would i see women guardians of sexual morality?
can you elaborate on what falls into the "etc"

Newernewist · 25/03/2020 03:35

Cybernan.
Go on then, please elaborate on why a person would presume another person would be receptive to warranted messages.
What is the criteria?

1forAll74 · 25/03/2020 03:56

Don't you all think it would be better, when there were no such things as shit I phones, or even any phones, in the horrors of the war years, when most partners/ husbands went off to war, so no ( nasty ) !! men cheated on you. Nobody knew what anyone was getting up to for a few years.

But having said that, a few of the women in the street where I used to live in the oldie war days, got quite excited, after the drudge of everyday life then, and went out on clandestine nights out, and had affairs with the American forces men who were based nearby. They kind of forgot about their husbands for a while ha ha.

CyberNan · 25/03/2020 04:04

what is a warranted message? why does there have to be a criteria?

my original response merely suggested that the sender of the dodgy messages probably thought the recipient was receptive to them... otherwise why would he send them?

do you send messages that you know are unwanted?
who does that?

@angrytruckdriver sorry I missed that That is a shocking opinion too

It didn't rile me as much, which shows my bias. Good note for reflection

AGoodPodcastAndANiceCupOfTea · 25/03/2020 05:34

@CyberNan Many men hence needing to make rule that pictures if genitalia cannot be sent on Tinder and the not-uncommon practice of airdropping filth in public places. A lot of men send pictures and messages that they know will make the the reader uncomfortable because they get off on that and the practice has become so widespread that many otherwise decent men have become desensitised and will chance their arm, as it were. Surely you realise that or are you one of those unfortunate people who lacks empathy and thinks that if it hasn't happened to them then it can't possibly be a real experience for anyone else?

Jennifer2r · 25/03/2020 06:45

I do a fair amount of dating and last week got a few text messages from men I haven't thought about in months along the lines of 'hey Jennifer, just checking you're ok, let me know if you need anything' 😁

Aussiegirl123456 · 25/03/2020 07:21

Cybernan, I'm truly bewildered by your mindset!
I receive frequent messages on instagram of male's genitalia. I portray myself on instagram as a boring, married, geeky solicitor on maternity leave. Is it my fault I receive those?

longwayoff · 25/03/2020 07:31

Cabin fever already cybernan? I'd recommend you take a brisk walk asap, alone, obviously. If you happen across any people you don't know you'll be able to shout unwarranted insults across the street at them. That will make you feel better.

vegansprinkle · 25/03/2020 07:33

I had a professional account (a sa Playgroup leader? And used to receive lots of them.

Again, I worked with preschoolers.

It was quite upsetting. I certainly was not receptive to it.

@CyberNan you are way off the mark.

SunshineAvenue · 25/03/2020 07:41

WTF @CyberNan

Lightline · 25/03/2020 07:42

That would be so pathetic
Who’s interested in cheap thrills now?

hidethoselyingeyes · 25/03/2020 11:34

Wow! Certainly never expected Some of those responses .
I was interested in your thoughts as I have a male friend in my li fe who ramps up contact, mostly appropriate, when his girlfriend is at work or asleep. Ramping up to 60+ texts per day. He may often send sexual memes or pics of beautiful
Women. Radio silence when she is at home mostly .
It took a few months to notice the pattern.
I will be interested to see how it plays out now that we are both not working
