Nasty Facebook comment, upset for frontline worker

So my son (see previous post) is a frontline (key) worker, it's tough, he is tired, says the wards are "harrowing", that the general public have "no idea about CV.

So on the local FB page someone said that lots of teens in the local park, no ideas as i have been out today as no need too. Another local posted "I bet they are key workers children", I objected and said you've no idea about them being key workers children, my son is a key worker and him telling us what's going on makes us very very careful.

She then went on to say, yeah but that's a hospital worker and I bet they're teachers or ta's children, again I objected and said you have no idea!

We have a very unusual surname and she then said "I was at primary school with your son, I could say a few things on here about you" you're ex is a fireman (hypothetical) which she got the job right but we are still married and named our son.

To me this is irrelevant and has really upset me, I was just saying don't blame the people that have to currently work as they're risking their lives for others. They're coming into contact with lots of children etc so others can work.

AIBU to report her to group admin?

Engaging with Facebook twats is like playing chess with a pigeon. They knock over all the pieces, shit all over the board, and then strut around like they’ve won. It’s pointless and frustrating.

Arguing with people on a Facebook is pointless. Just block. You could report it if you want but I don’t know what that would achieve.

Clevererthanyou · 24/03/2020 21:02

People only say that “I could tell YOU a few things about your mum/uncle/hamster” when they want to plant a seed of worry in someone else’s head space. Don’t let her! Also, back away from the social media as it is poison - now more than ever.

Current times have the crazies and trolls out in full force. Just ignore them.

Why would this even bother you? And you can find out loads from someone on Facebook, most people have terrible privacy settings. Just let it go I would.
