To consider taking up a whole new pursuit during lockdown

Anyone else doing this? I live in a flat and work fairly long hours and busy at the weekends (no kids) so I’m going to have a lot of spare time vs normal...

Any suggestions for new hobbies or pursuits to stop the madness setting in? Eg ive always loved books so wondering if I’ll maybe do some writing.

Anyone else got ambitions of “stuff they never normally have time for but now really don’t have an excuse not to do”?

I've seen some short, free OU courses that look interesting.

It’s a perfect time to take up a new hobby! I still have to work which is annoying (Frontline NHS employee) but have enjoyed baking, knitting and learning decoupage to help de-stress and beat the boredom of staying at home.

I'm the same OP - flat, long hours, no kids. I'm going to do some French Duolingo and get stuck into some books, majorly neglected both. I'd love to do baking but that's not going to help my weight loss

If anyone wants to learn to crochet, I recommend attic24.com for excellent tutorials. And woolwarehouse.com for knitting and crochet supplies ( normally they are super fast with excellent service but now are a bit slower, although much better choice than Amazon).

Playing the piano again. Have a grade 8 but with kids and work I've neglected it badly in the last 10 years... I've downloaded a lot of fun stuff to learn.

Machine embroidery. I got my birthday present early to play with during lock-down. It makes up for my lovely birthday weekend in France being cancelled.
