Let’s all set our alarms for the morning

Let’s all set our alarms for the morning as usual. Remember when our alarms went off and we all turned over pressing snooze desperately wanting 5 more minutes, well we have that now, so take advantage while we can. Stop moaning, do what we have all dreamed of because now you finally can. Whilst you can say a prayer for our key workers who cannot

I agree!

Clymene · 24/03/2020 00:49

Eh? I still have to get up to work!

MinesAPintOfTea · 24/03/2020 00:53

I have a teleconference at 9.30 so need to have my with laptop connected by just after 9. Before then I have to exercise, feed and settle with schoolwork DS. I will be up at 6.30, whether I like it or not.

PippaPegg · 24/03/2020 00:54

Would love to.

But own 2 under 3 so no need Grin

avamiah · 24/03/2020 00:58

I’ve been waking up everyday at 7am for 12 years.
I woke up the same time today but it was so quiet and still outside.
Nobody was rushing past my house to get to the underground station which is just over the road and no milkman.
Worst of all , I didn’t have to shout/scream up the stairs for my 10 year old to get up, as she had no school to get up for .
That really brought it home to me.
Life will never be the same again .

GrimDamnFanjo · 24/03/2020 01:06

Well I'll be at work as usual tomorrow. While I'm still in business ...

DontCallMeShitley · 24/03/2020 01:06

I don't need to set an alarm, I will be awake on and off all night wondering how long I will have a home.

newusername2009 · 24/03/2020 01:12

I’ll still be getting up for the next few weeks while I have a job to do - in a few weeks I won’t have one and I can lie awake worrying about how I am going to pay the bills instead

BusterGonad · 24/03/2020 01:37

I've hardly been sleeping so no need to set an alarm, I'm an expat that has chosen to stay in the country I'm living in and am struggling with worrying if I've made the right decision, all flights in and out are gradually being canceled and I'm getting The Fear.... The anxiety is making my health condition play up so no alarms for me..... I think when there are no longer any flights I will calm down a lot, then the decision is out of my hands. Its the subconscious anxiety that's getting to me, weird dreams etc...

Dita73 · 24/03/2020 01:41

I guarantee this will be the time that you hit the snooze button, snuggle back down and get comfy then realise you need a wee

Ondalay · 24/03/2020 01:48

You do know that you have to go to work in the morning unless your employer has said otherwise?

Limpshade · 24/03/2020 09:11

My alarm goes off seven days a week. I should say alarms, as there are two of them. They are each around a metre tall and never fail to wake me up before 7am Wink

crazydiamond222 · 24/03/2020 09:13

I wish. Baby has been up every 2 hours during night and autistic son wakes up at 5am each day.

PenisBeakerDipper · 24/03/2020 09:16

I have a four week old baby and a 12 year old whose timetable starts at 8.40, also DH starts conference calls at 8 so wakes at 6 to shower, exercise, eat and Hoover. So I’m okay without the alarm!

Fluffymulletstyle · 24/03/2020 09:34

I'm a NHS key worker who will be on the frontline of fighting this virus. The sentiment is lovely but on a practical level get as much sleep as you can to boost your immune system!!

ghostyslovesheets · 24/03/2020 09:35

I’m in work

soberfabulous · 24/03/2020 09:35

the memes around "meditate, read and using your time wisely" get hollow laughs from those of us who have to work! I'm up and at my desk (home office) earlier than usual and working harder than ever before. i wish i had the time to pursue my dreams. right now it's all about survival.

Oh and homeschooling a small child whilst doing this!

@Sunbliss

YABU. And very condescending. Many people are still having to go to work, OR work from home. The WFH people are not lying in bed watching netflix boxsets you know! Hmm

And whilst I (and everyone else) appreciates what the hardworking NHS staff are doing, let's not forget that many, MANY other people are also working hard to keep their community, their family, and the country together.

PeterPanGoesWrong · 24/03/2020 10:05

I woke about an hour earlier than usual, as my DH had a 7 am conference call he had to chair and he was not in bed. I always stir when he gets up. My work is totally cancelled.
