To be absolutely panicking

I've made me and my children stay indoors since Wednesday to lower risk of us catching virus. I'm a single parent, no family close by. I'm running out of food and I do not want to take my children out to get stuff as they can catch it as they will slow me down esp my 3 year old, and I have a baby. I'm absolutely panicking at how I will get out to get food?? How are other single parents with absolutely no one to help coping? I've heard online deliveries are only delivering to disabled and elderly. And whose to say the corona virus won't be present on those items.
What the hell am I going to do 😢

OP you are ok to go out and get food I understand its difficult with the children... is there not a friend or mum from school or nursery who would grab you some essentials... you could bank tranfser some money? I've seen lots of people offering assistance on FB. What about Amazon pantry? Probably a lot more expensive but it might see you through until s delivery slot is available. What about click and collect? I know you probably couldn't carry much... maybe walk there... taxi back if theres any still running in your area?
@MereDintofPandiculation - I think the PP was on about booking some future delivery slots as it seems the OP has very little support and is finding it difficult to get food. Not that the OP was going to over buy everything.

Your poor kids, they need some fresh air take them out at least for a walk around the block every other day staying well away from everyone else if you've not got a garden or at least go in the garden. The mental health damage for you all is probably worse if you've not got underlying conditions.

Lone parent with one 5 year old. My advice , go to the shop. You have to. Wash everyone's hands before you leave, practice social distancing (granted harder with children that dart or run like mine does 🤦🏻‍♀️)

Collect your shopping, don't touch your face or your phone till you get back home, wash your hands.

You have to leave your house, you can't keep 3 children indoors indefinitely. I know there is a chance of catching it, and yes it could be bad. But running out of food and never going outside is going to lead to worse consequences possibly.

Everything I've read says the virus survives for 24 hours on cardboard, 2-3 days on plastic.
If this is the case then you can use time to sanitise everything you buy. Just buy it and store it, then don't touch it again until the time that you need it.

This will help you as far as the items themselves go at least.

The Royal Mail official advice is the odds of catching the virus off post and parcels is close to nil so shopping is fine. Wash your hands of course
