What's right in these circumstances?

Just a quick one. Not sure who to ask.

In these circumstances:

-I'm 24wks pregnant

-I'm on 30mg of (immune system suppressing) steroids for the rest of my pregnancy due to suspected Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis.

-I'm home looking after our 11mo

-DH is a key worker by day and food deliverer 3 evenings a week

Should he inform work of the circumstances and stay home for a certain amount of time to prevent bringing CV home?

If he does, would he get paid still?

I occasionally pop to the high st nearby for essential errands (baby under rain cover in buggy), should I actually be completely self isolating?

I'm worried sick a lot of the time.

Hopeful bump. Just been trying Google to find out re DH staying home or not and the more I read about CV I'm getting so anxious Sad

I think speaking to your Midwife or Consultant (if it's consultant-led) is your best choice. They'll have answers but won't overwhelm you the way Google will.

Switch off the news. Do things to help calm and soothe yourself (easier said than done, I know) and wait til tomorrow has passed so you can seek proper advice.

How exposing is his key worker role? Frontline NHS or Manager of a bank?

Lolling · 21/03/2020 20:20

Thank you @FudgeBrownie2019. I'm so tearful don't know if it's just the hormones making me so scared.

@Bernadette he's a postie

Ok so fewer people and not frontline NHS.

I'd have him drop the evening job. Maintain good distances with the Postie role, and have a thorough shower as soon as his shift finishes. His uniform can be laundered as soon as he walks in the door (don't you touch it).

All we can do is minimise risk.
