I`ve had a couple of messages from a mum of DD's friend asking when the kids can meet up. I've answered that DD isn't going to be meeting her friends in person for a while but they can Skype/text etc.
The mum has told me I'm being paranoid and it 'won't hurt to see a friend'.
Am I being paranoid? I don't think I am. I think she's in denial.
To stop the spread we all have to keep a distance from everyone not in our immediate family and even though DD is 11 and sensible, I can't guarantee she will do this!

YANBU but today I did let my daughter see a friend or rather her dad did. It’s ALWAYS me putting my foot down and today I’ve let her dad take control (he has no fucking idea what that word means). People are not taking it seriously and as of tomorrow I will put my foot down.

Jesus. I’m so depressed. What are people not understanding about social distancing?! Why do these people think they’re immune?! Where does that ignorant arrogance come from?!

The only way I would let DD see a friend is outside & if they keep 6 feet between them. Not sure they would manage that. I was planning a beach trip but may just take DD on her own

FFS! She's being completely selfish & downright stupid - it potentially WILL hurt to go out & see a friend - this thing is bloody serious & the isolation measures have been put in place for a reason!! It's not a "oh it'll be fine" situation- it's global biological war!! Tell her to stop being a twat!!
