To have said no - social distancing related

Friends nursery is closing due to the virus, she needs childcare so far she has 2 people plus her parents both who are in their 70's one who would be considered vulnerable to help out.

I said no, I feel awful for saying no and was made to feel as if I were an idiot going over the top with regards to social distancing.

I haven't seen my own family for 2 weeks so's to protect my own dad.

AIBU? I know she's really quite pissed off with me and I love her little dc to bits but I just don't feel it's a good idea.

You are not being unreasonable at all

Maelil · 20/03/2020 17:58

YANBU She is.
You look after your family and she should do the same with hers. Expecting 70 year olds to do childcare is very selfish.

Thank you, I'm starting to feel like a social outcast that's being over dramatic. I am not in the least bit afraid but I do feel it's important to heed advice to protect others and our NHS. I'm sick of trying to explain to people what social distancing means!
