As part of eBay‘s cooperation with the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) there will be a new enforcement of an eBay Medicine and Healthcare products policy. This means that from the 21st of January 2019, if you sell over the counter medicine on eBay you’ll have to be registered with the MHRA (which you already should be anyway) **

I hope you all agree that in these times the last thing that should be happening is people profiteering from those in need.

With medicines not vastly available on the shelves and not accessable to those that need them there are selfish people trying to gain for themselves and make quick money. It's also dangerous to buy medicines from an online source especially eBay as the condition of the items is unknown.

I am asking if you have a spare two minutes to report any listings you see for the sale of Calpol or other medicines, so they are removed from the site, this will hopefully begin to send a message that the resale of these items will not be profitable and keep some bottles on shelves.

In the last few days I have managed to end auctions of open packaged medications and a box of Calpol about to sell for £155.

I'm hoping the more that report, the more they will listen.

Thank you

How do you leave a review for a seller if you haven't bought from them?

absolutezero0k · 21/03/2020 09:36

Oh and I've just seen that price gouging is a reporting option...

Report this item
Prohibited and restricted items
Price gouging
Choose from the list (general household items, hygiene items, medical supplies, other, sanitation items)

Ilovetoast10 · 21/03/2020 10:21

@absolutezero0k

Thanks for the advice about report price gouging.

You can write a review only against items that have the stars next to them I think, if you scroll down the listing to view the reviews it will give you an option to leave your own even if you haven't purchased the product.

Lots more calpol ones appeared just now. Reported the lot. There were only two first thing when I checked!

PinkDaydreams · 21/03/2020 14:15

I’ve reported loads of Calpol this morning. Disgusting behaviour from greedy sellers.
I’ve been round seven shops this morning and finally found a bottle lurking at the back of a shelf in a small Sainsbury’s. I have a two year old teething badly and will only take the Calpol brand.
Try explaining to a teething toddler what’s going on you evil shit head ebayers taking advantage!!!!!

PinkDaydreams · 21/03/2020 14:20

Just reported some more calpol. One of them is on £102 Shock absolutely vile

anguauberwaldironfoundersson · 21/03/2020 15:05

Godamnit... who just overtook my £50k bid on calpol?!?

anguauberwaldironfoundersson · 21/03/2020 15:06

Thanks for telling me how to report these shithead sellers.

We still use stage 1 formula for our 13 month old (follow on milk etc being a gimmick and all that), but thinking that formula would be in short demand and leaving the infant stuff for those who properly need it for tiny infants, bought follow on milk to see him through. Didn't get on with it, so waited for our Tesco shop this morning for the stage 1 stuff again (quantity ordered, 1xoff). Obviously I was naive in thinking we'd get a box.

Going from 2 feeds a day to none, has, understandably, been a bit of a shock for the wee soul. Not proud, but I broke quarantine to go find some in a shop. I was just so fucking angry at trying to do the right thing, and instead had to listen to my very pissed off and upset son cry himself to sleep.

Now I'm hunting down and reporting these fuckers on eBay. They have the cheek to claim it's going to charity???????? But I'm glad I've got somewhere to direct my anger.

Anyone struggling for formula, I had success at the coop. My local one are only selling one unit of formula to any one person, which I'm very grateful for.

PinkDaydreams · 22/03/2020 07:59

Lots more calpol back on eBay. I’ve reported at least 20 this morning.
@anguauberwaldironfoundersson I love your bid!! I bet the seller was very pissed off!

MonicaGB · 22/03/2020 08:38

Ebay has added in a Price Gouging category:
Prohibited and restricted items
Price Gouging
And then there are options of health, etc

I will spend some time reporting the bastards.

MonicaGB · 22/03/2020 09:05

This person is profiteering off the elderly by selling incontinence pads at ridiculous prices

Sugarplumfairy65 · 22/03/2020 10:46

I'm spending my 3 months isolation reporting all these bastards on eBay and Amazon

Ionacat · 22/03/2020 10:58

I spent some time this morning reporting calpol. They are all still there at the moment. I am hoping that they will disappear shortly. (I then fell down a hole doing paracetamol and then medicine imported from abroad with all sorts of active ingredients. eBay really need to ban some of these sellers - I’m fairly sure that a couple have relisted from yesterday. (Auction times getting shorter in an attempt not to be pulled.)

Ticklemeelmo · 22/03/2020 14:20

My new hobby is reporting the paracetamol sellers, if anyone gets a chance please also search paracetamol or Panadol on eBay and report them too.

There are also tons of overpriced hand sanitiser ads on there to report.

Happy hunting

I can’t find the three dots,do you have to be signed in

Phoenix76 · 22/03/2020 14:33

I haven't got an e-bay account but I just wanted to thank you guys for what you're doing Flowers

LolaSmiles · 22/03/2020 14:47

Ticklemeelmo
I've also found myself doing this as a way to pass the time when the baby cluster feeding.
It's also more useful than pointing out how selfish some of the behaviour on here is eg. "Shall I go to the gym"

JeanJackeys · 22/03/2020 15:44

Just a bump so this gets onto active so more people can see

AJTracey · 22/03/2020 15:58

Reported lots. Bump

Ionacat · 22/03/2020 16:22

Just done another lot. They are multiplying rapidly.

Ha me too! It's an excellent way to pass the time when you're mostly glued to the same place with just one hand free.

absolutezero0k · 23/03/2020 12:34

Well this had been keeping me amused in self-isolation. I've noticed today that a lot of these vultures have got wise and stopped including 'paracetamol' and 'ibuprofen' in their descriptions - try 'infant suspension' and a whole load of stuff comes up.

Reported lots of price gouging too - 3 bottles of fairy liquid for £30 anyone?

absolutezero0k · 23/03/2020 12:38

This seller has an interesting take on prices..

www.ebay.co.uk/itm/233504341317

PinkDaydreams · 23/03/2020 15:11

Vile aren’t they?! I too have also noticed shorter listing times.
I’m off to do some more reporting now!
