Lamb chops and defrosting

Sorry this is absolutely ridiculous to have to ask!

Aibu to defrost 4 lamb chops in the microwave now, marinade, pop in the fridge to be cooked tonight?

The internet tells me I've started the cooking process so they need to be cooked straight after defrosting 🤷🏻‍♀️

I would only ever defrost in the microwave if I was going to cook immediately.

I usually leave frozen meat on the side in the kitchen to defrost in the winter/cool weather, as the kitchen is cool during the day. In your position I would probably put the chops in a dish frozen as they are, put the marinade on and leave them in a cool place until this evening (but not the fridge), by which time they will be (or should be) defrosted.
Whenever I defrost meat in the microwave it always seems to melt unevenly and some parts get warm. Okay if you are going to cook it straight away, but not ideal, and I also think it spoilt a good piece of meat.
Lamb can be cooked from frozen, but I think chops would probably dry up doing that, as they don't need much cooking anyway. Lamb joints can certainly be cooked from frozen.
