I saw this and wanted to share it. I haven’t gone through a stringent fact checking process or anything, but...

-China has closed down its last coronavirus hospital. Not enough new cases to support them.

  • Doctors in India have been successful in treating Coronavirus. Combination of drugs used: Lopinavir, Retonovir, Oseltamivir along with Chlorphenamine. They are going to suggest same medicine, globally.

  • Apple reopens all 42 china stores,
  • Cleveland Clinic developed a COVID-19 test that gives results in hours, not days.
  • Good news from South Korea, where the number of new cases is declining.
  • Scientists in Israel likely to announce the development of a coronavirus vaccine.
  • A network of Canadian scientists are making excellent progress in Covid-19 research.

I saw this yesterday and shared it. It made me feel better.

Most of them I could verify, just the Chinese ones that are a bit dubious in my mind, but there seems to be plenty of evidence.

In an update today they said they had no new domestic cases, the handful of new ones were all imported.

I don't want to derail the thread, but what's getting me through right now is the solidarity of my community. It has been so lovely to see fb groups forming so that we can communicate and identify people who might need help.
Additionally, on my school mum's WhatsApp group, we let each other know if we're doing a shop or a grocery delivery, so that we can all request stuff if we're desperate.
So, with the good news about the "state of the virus", I am also really proud of how some people are looking at this as an opportunity to help each other out. ♥️

It's good news, yes.

But we are in life changing times, so things will change regardless. Lets hope more changes for the better than worse.

SomeoneInTheLaaaaaounge · 20/03/2020 13:01

Thank you so so much xxx

Findawaytobehappy · 20/03/2020 17:45

Sweetbaby that’s not a derail. I’ve heard some similar stories too! There definitely seems to be a huge sense of camaraderie among communities and at work. We all usually work remotely anyway or at least away from most of each other as we are all based around the country and we are all talking more than normal

And if you want to smile - look at the thread about ‘New World Order’
And thank me later. It’s a funny one.

what are the sources on this? I keep seeing this - with the exact same wording

www.snopes.com/fact-check/covid-good-news-list-accurate/

In Summary

The claims on the popular “good news” list are generally accurate and supported by credible news reports. The number of new cases in China and South Korea have dropped since the pandemic began, enough so that China has closed its temporary hospitals. A number of patients have also successfully recovered from the disease, and several organizations are working on vaccines for COVID-19. However, at the time of this writing (March 19, 2020), this “good news” should not be taken as proof that this pandemic is soon coming to an end. Health officials in the United States continue to urge citizens to practice “social distancing,” and it’s likely that we won’t see a worldwide rollout of an effective vaccine until mid-2021.
