To ask how I can give my boy a nice birthday next week?

He'll be 10 next Friday. We were originally going to a lazer place and then pizza and maybe a sleepover with his pals.

Now we're social distancing how do I make it a good day? I'll be home with him and his 3 sisters.

At least he'll be off school which he'll be pleased about! But I just don't know how to make it a special day.

Any ideas please?

One of mine has a birthday next week. We are going to order dominos, rent movies, hide her presents all over the house, bake a massive silly cake and make sure at least one present is a loo roll.

We've got the same problem with a 21st. Nicer, more expensive gifts and a voucher for a lovely day out when it's over?

DD turning 7 soon.

She was upset at having her party delayed (not cancelled, made sure she knew that), but we'll be doing a midnight feast (yes, complete with cake and biccies, she even asked for ginger beer, hahaha!!) as well as a zoom video party with her cousins.

You can get lazer guns from Amazon which are good fun. Go a bit mad with decorations and balloons and buy a voucher for something fun that he can do when this is eventually over. Let his sisters have a sleepover in his room and stay up late having a film and popcorn?

I'm sure we've had some lazer guns at some point - will dig them out, he'll love a game if that.

Loving the gift-wrapped loo-roll idea! Definitely needs one of those on this memorable birthday

Following for the lovely ideas

DD will be 10 in a couple of weeks, we also had a party planned, tea out and a pamper session.

We'll probably plan a board games marathon, pizza and cake for tea and maybe a bike ride weather permitting.

Might also try the treasure hunt and a bajillion balloons.

We've bought her theatre tickets for September so hopefully this will be something to look forward to but we'll need to rethink her other gifts if pony riding lessons and a shopping spree.

It’s my son’s 12th birthday today. I was glad he was still at school so could spend some time with friends. Then we’ve had takeaway and watched a film. It’s not the same but we’ve tried to make the best of a bad situation x

Also lots of blankets, duvets and pillows for a sleepover with you and his sister's downstairs. My DD always loves sleeping downstairs and she's 13 😂

Mine is eight soon. I think we’re going to have a lavish breakfast, treasure hunt for presents, beach with a picnic (weather permitting), cake.

The problem is that he’s been out of school for almost a week now, and both of us are working from home, so there’s no ‘treat’ to spending time together the way there would normally be — we’ve done nothing but read and play games and watch films when not homeschooling.
