To think you shouldn’t hear downstairs neighbour stirring tea?

Just moved into new place. Have one downstairs neighbour, a couple, moderate noise, decent people - but....

I can hear them walk, talk, shut cupboards, sneeze, clear throat, and stirring tea (a guesstimate I know it could be horlicks or coffee!).

Old listed building, really lovely, but I can’t get past this, I’m afraid of farting.

WWYD?
I’m thinking, as a renting tenant, just cut my losses and pay up.
I’m somewhat ok for money and not sure Incan deal, with this.

Anyone advise?

Well if you can’t deal with it then that’s your answer isn’t it? I guess you could try putting rugs down.

Think it's tricky as you're renting. What's the flooring like I'm assuming wood floorboards maybe some big rugs? Is it just in the kitchen you hear them or is it throughout the flat? Maybe consider something that'll generate white noise inoffensive to downstairs but will mask their noise.
