I think YAB a bit U
DH does this all the time. I have no problem with it, he only warns me if it is someone I don't know very well, and normally that is a quick text 5 mins before.
It's his house too and I bring people back all the time without telling him!
(I remember bringing a mate back from swimming wiht her DS and forgetting DH was in bed having a lie in, until he wandered downstairs in a pair of ill fitting boxers...)
WRT to the food thing I would have eaten anyway and said 'sorry, I don't have anything for you as I wasn't expecting you, fancy a piece of toast?' No-one has taken offence at this yet!

Yeah well as the wife and mother of the house any judgements made regarding how clean the house is...etc etc will be directed at you. This is the case even if you work your ass off in a stressful job while your dh does fuckall except make a damn mess.

That's all right Telly Mater -I was just being enthusiastic and delighted that someone else remembered that scene, not accusing you of plagarism!

I'm afraid I do still love them - I re-read regularly and cry buckets every time! Mind you, little Men and Jo's Boys are my least favourite - less humour and realism, more piety!
