Anyone got any real idea why other than an initial scream he was silent?

Not really an AIBU but didn't know where to ask the question.

My DC older than yours has broken 2 fingers, barely flinched and carried on playing, however can have a slight knock and the drama is ridiculous! I broke a bone as a child and it didnt overly hurt, had much more painful things happen.

When I broke my arm when I was 4yo I apparently didn't cry.

As an adult I've cried when I had a hangover Grin

Stunned silence from being shocked.

I hope your wee one is ok Thanks

My DD broke her arm really badly, bones broke through the skin, not a peep out of her. Was really weird.

My twins (both autistic) barely respond when they hurt themselves. Giant bang on the head? Straight up and running around. Cut open eyebrow? Only crying because I’m applying pressure.

So if you have any concerns there, it’s worth considering.

Having said that, I had a very very serious injury when I was 18 wherein I nearly lost my arm. I passed out and when I came round I was surrounded by blood and I was so confused because nothing really hurt - I had a bit of pain across my stomach and for a minute I thought I had cut my stomach open. Honestly I don’t remember any pain until I was at the hospital, it was only bad when they started stitching it up while I was awake (long story!). I did cut through many nerves, major blood vessels etc, I’ve had more painful sprained ankles to be honest. I was definitely in (actual) shock though.

A year later I had another nasty but much less serious injury and it was so much more painful.

So it could be shock, adrenaline, etc. I Hope he’s okay now.
