To ask if you've upset a "celeb"?

I was very upset confused & amused to find that Noel Clarke has blocked me on Twitter.

I've never even interacted with the bloke & I really like him as an actor & the films & tv shows he's in. No fucking idea how I've come to be blocked 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

Have you ever upset a celebrity? Did you knick Baby Spice's parking space? Did you spill a drink on Keith Chegwin?

I spilled a drink on tony Armstrong jones ( princess Margaret’s ex) when I was a waitress at the national theatre. He acted the total gent, whipped out his cotton hankie and mopped down my tray.

WriteronaMission · 10/03/2020 17:41

The guy who plays David Platt in Corrie. He demanded everyone move out of his way and I refused to pander. When he said "do you know who I am" I replied with "well, you look like a guy who has no manners. A simple excuse me please would be more appropriate than move." After staring him down, he eventually mumbled excuse me and then called me a bitch.

We were both about 14-16 at the time I think. I knew him because we went to rival drama schools and not because I actually watch Corrie. But the moment has always stuck. Friends at my drama school cheered.

Because of my job, I spend more time annoying reps of the actors instead of the actors themselves, mostly because the reps expect things that can't be delivered but the actors are more understanding.

QueenOfOversharing · 10/03/2020 17:43

Patsy Palmer! 😂 Were you a bit embarrassed later?

Frankly, not being killed by Chuck Norris is probably the best claim to fame. Ever.

Calum Best! He seems to get a bit twitchy a lot...

About 20 years ago I was working on the reception of a small TV production company. I got a phone call one day from Jenny Eclair wanting to leave a message for one of the directors. I was 18 and had never heard of her before, I asked her to spell her surname so that I could ensure I got it right and the director would know who to call back. She absolutely flipped out, started screaming down the phone at me "Its ECLAIR, ECLAIR, like the CAKE, JENNY ECLAIR!!!" before slamming the phone down on me. When the director later called her back she made a complaint about me and the director called me in for a chat about how "rude" I had been to one of their clients and how she had had to placate her and apologise profusely for my foolish youthful ignorance!

whataboutbob · 10/03/2020 17:45

@PyongyangKipperbang Quentin Tarantino is manifestly a self important unpleasant piece of work, so I’m not surprised.

patsywho · 10/03/2020 17:45

Yes! Totally embarrassed. Poor woman 😂

QueenOfOversharing · 10/03/2020 17:45

@WriteronaMission I can imagine reps are a nightmare but blame the writer. I worked in music industry & the artists were always much easier going. Maybe it goes to their head? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Got block by Dan Wooten recently, journalist for the sun! A lot of us called him out on his behaviour after Caroline flack and he blocked us all!

patsywho · 10/03/2020 17:49

God I hate Dan Wooten

QueenOfOversharing · 10/03/2020 17:49

Imagine upsetting THE Jenny Eclair. Know your place! 😂

@PyongyangKipperbang @whataboutbob yes! Was it the Krishnan Guru Murthy interview where he was a total ? I'm going to have to look now. He has a reputation for being "lively" 😂

J-Lo. Her team wanted her and the entourage to stay in a famous hotel in Scotland, to book out the entire floor, fine. But the list of demands was fucking ridiculous, including Victorian shit like no staff was to look at her at all, eyes on the floor, no speaking at all in her presence except if personally addressed by her, all kinds of twattery. I was the one who had to tell her 'person' that we did not wish to book her.

Starbuck8419 · 10/03/2020 17:49

I didn’t dent his ego but I certainly inadvertently creeped out Phil Mitchell.
I was a lowly student at the time and because I’m a sadist, my mate and I went into Harris’s to take a look round and die a bit inside.
He walked into the room I was in looking at books and I nearly collapsed with glee. I proceeded to follow him round the store peering over a hard back I had in my hand. At one point he caught me and I literally stopped still and put the book over my face thinking he wouldn’t see me. When I looked back he had gone and must of thought I was a lunatic on day release

(It’s worth noting that at the time, I used to watch eastenders religiously.)

Starbuck8419 · 10/03/2020 17:50

*harrods (fucking autocorrect)

QueenOfOversharing · 10/03/2020 17:50

@Snowpatrolling @patsywho HATE that man. Him spewing that disingenuous guff was so awful. He must have everybody on twitter blocked.

DS (when he was about 5) was told off by Barbara Windsor in our local garden centre. We were waiting at the till to pay and she was in front. He brushed her geraniums and she told him off. He hadn't done it on purpose but I apologised anyway. When we got to the till the cashier said "You have no idea who that was do you?" To which we said no idea. Then she told us it was Barbara Windsor!

MamaFlintstone · 10/03/2020 17:51

Got told off by swearing on Twitter by Lemar.

GrannyBags · 10/03/2020 17:53

I nearly knocked Stephen Fry down the stairs outside Embankment Tube station. Could have killed him but he was very nice about it!

QueenOfOversharing · 10/03/2020 17:55

@MauriceandAlec I hope you don't mind that I now love you! ❤️

@Starbuck8419 I could actually see that in my mind 😂 Like Inspector Clouseau

You reminded me that in my younger, drunken days I followed Seal round a Models One party in a hotel on Park Lane, stroking his jacket, stage whispering "I'm touching Seal". I wish I hadn't remembered.

I was incredibly rude to Diana Hardcastle once around 1988 and to this day I’m so embarrassed.

At the time she was starring on tv In That’s Love with Jimmy Mulville and I thought she was amazing and I loved the way she dressed. Anyway she happened to be in a local (to me) restaurant as she was appearing at the local theatre.

I interrupted her whilst she was having her meal to gush over how wonderful I thought she was and she graciously introduced me to her co-star (from the theatre) and I said ‘oh well, I’ve never heard of you’ and then turned back to her. She was taken aback but was polite enough not to say anything. I then went back to my table and realised how rude I’d been. Me and my friend left shortly after that and I was mortified 🥴

Saw her in a tv show very recently and it made me cringe when I thought back to when I was so ignorant 😩

managedmis · 10/03/2020 17:56

Yeah I pissed off Jarvis Cocker. Saw him on a school trip to London - I was too fat and too Northern to say hello to him apparently.

GabsAlot · 10/03/2020 17:58

sometimes you can blocked by accident i know ive done it to a few people or theyre on a blocking spree and just do a load

TealWater · 10/03/2020 18:00

I was (still am as far as I know) blocked on twitter by Daniel Jones of Savage Garden. He was tweeting about blocking the Salvation Army and boycotting them because of their stance on marriage equality (this was around 10 or 12 years ago). Fair enough, I understand his view and I am a big supporter and advocate of marriage equality, so we were fighting on the same side. The thing is though, he was suggesting people boycott all charities/refuse to donate to them etc if they stuck to a bible view of marriage. I tweeted to him that I 100% supported his fight but if we were to boycott all charities who stuck to a biblical view of marriage, that would leave us with almost none, if any charities left, to help others in need.

Next thing I knew, I was blocked from his twitter page. Blush I did feel quite hurt and upset as I was a huge fan of Savage Garden and worked hard for marriage equality myself.

I think I upset Ross Kemp when I refused to entertain his nonsense about my not being able to maneuver my car into a tight parking spot at the gym we both went to. He looked pretty disgruntled and stalked off when I refused his offer to do it for me.

doubleshotespresso · 10/03/2020 18:02

I had the absolute privilege of informing Lady Heather Mills MacCartney that her credit card had been declined.
She forgot at that moment her Lady status and ran off a string of expletives at me telling me to fix the machine.
Was an expensive transaction which following a phone call she then paid via a less snazzy credit card .
Was in the run-up to her divorce and she looked ill, I actually felt for her and got a team member to help her to her car in the end but always remember thinking I'd rather be without her money as she looked so haunted.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 10/03/2020 18:03

nurse that's hilarious, I can't imagine Guz doing that Grin

(He used to be DS's form tutor and was at school with another family member, he is a genuinely nice chap)
