Potty training AIBU to think friend is telling a little porky?

She said her daughter now 17 was potty trained at 7 months 🤔 now I've had 3 kids and none of them at 7 months were even remotely able to go to a potty. She insists it was 7 months! 12 months maybe just but 7?

My son is 2.5 and a great speaker, he tells me when he has done dirty nappy but will not sit on potty or toilet but I will keep trying.

My friend said her DD was potty trained at less than 12 months. She didn’t use nappies but constant accidents. It was bizarre.

My MIL claims my DH was too, but she’s just reimagining the past.

when ds1 was 10months he used to crawl to the potty when he needed to go, but I wouldn't have trusted him without nappies outside the house until he was 12 months and talking.
Ds2 and 3 were much later. In fact ds 2 was dry at night before he was confident using the potty in the daytime. Whether this was because I didn't have as much time as I did with ds1, or I considered it less important, or they just weren't ready as early I don't know.

Thanks @Bizawit

I doubt I’ll have another baby but it’s the sort of thing I think I’d have been quite unto if I’d known about it. I did actually used to wait until DS had wee’d with his nappy off before I put a new one on. Now feeling a bit thick that I used to lie him on a towel for that rather than just use a potty.

I find that people who have allegedly "potty trained" very early usually haven't done it to level I would consider trained, ie their child doesn't go unprompted, can't re-dress themselves and has very frequent accidents. They are also the only ones who think it's a race!
