To think that people should be panicking over a child sneezing

In the supermarket this morning and DD randomly
Sneezed a couple times. She does have a mild snotty nose. No fever, no cough definitely just a runny nose. She also has a cat allergy. She visited my grans yesterday and every time she does she sneezes for a couple days afterwards. I believe she is allergic to them like her daddy.

The Sainsburys worker looked at me in disgust and asked if she should be in here.

I know people are concerned. I get the panic..

Aibu to think that people are just getting usual common colds, normal viruses, normal bugs that aren’t coronavirus and a child’s sneeze is nothing to worry about.

Kids are coughing and sneezing constantly anyway!

Aibu to take my kid to the supermarket without feeling guilty? She’s not poorly...

Most people can't just stay at home every time they have a cold or something else infectious. For example NHS staff have been told they should not see a normal type of cold as a reason to take sick leave.

I've had a hacking cough since I had the flu jab last October and certain cleaning products, perfumes etc cause sneezing bouts. Went to the theatre last night where something triggered said coughing and sneezing, the more I tried not to cough and sneeze the worse it got. Guess I am going to be a social outcast when I am back in work Wednesday Wink

And coronavirus certainly is infecting children as well as adults. We should all be doing our best to prevent transmission.

The daffodils have just bloomed where I live - LOTS of them, so I'm a sneezy mess. I understand people's fear who are scared because they are immunocompromised or likely to be very poorly if they get it. My DS is one of these but we're trying to be sensible.
The thing that scares me most about it all is the selfish behaviour I've witnessed. Stockpiling more than you actually need so others have to go without. General panic and utter rudeness. It just makes me sad that THIS is how we behave in a crisis. I expected better but I'm not surprised

It is not fake news that children are not being infected/suffering at the same rate - every medical expert out there is saying that. In China they have only seen nine infants infected in the whole outbreak and none of them were serious cases. Why isn't clear and is being studied.

i tend to sneeze at work and then i can rush to wash my hands, which i do.

there is a lot of talk of sneezing,
so therefore this is how the covid is spread, through droplet

It shouldn't be a cause for alarm but sadly it is. The panic buying, the amount of people wandering around with masks its ridiculous. But the most ridiculous thing I have come across so far is the woman who refused her home shopping delivery because it doesn't come in carrier bags and she didn't want anything that had been touched. How the hell she thought the shopping got to the store, put on the shelves, taken off the shelves and put into bags I havent quite worked out

Most of us will be fine and the human population needs reducing to save the planet anyway.

Are you volunteering?

Not unreasonable at all. There’s so many other viruses flying about anyway with different symptoms, to assume everyone with a cold (which isn’t even a symptom of corona is it?!) is ridiculous.
