Where to rest/sleep in London during the day?

Abit of an odd request. I’m having a day off work next week and I really want to spend it reading magazines and sleep. Problem is I can’t be at home as dc is here. I’m so tired, I have been ill on and off since Christmas. Does anyone know where I can go? Any day spas where I can snooze for a few hours? I don’t want treatments. I just want to sleep.

Why dont you book a hotel room....

Sparklesocks · 06/03/2020 23:08

Could you book a hotel room or Airbnb apartment?

Largeyellowdaffodil · 06/03/2020 23:09

Day room at a hotel

SlackerMum1 · 06/03/2020 23:09

ESPA at the Corinthia Hotel if you’re happy to pay a bit...

SlackerMum1 · 06/03/2020 23:10

Can book just access to spa with many lovely beds, heated loungers & a sleep room

Fieldofgreycorn · 06/03/2020 23:13

St Martins Lane Hotel. About £250. Rooms are all white and peaceful with luxury beds. I always have an amazing sleep there. Not cheap though.

Travelodge? They seem to be doing good deals at the moment.

Mind you with Coronavirus you might get a really nice hotel quite cheaply!

There’s a website called Dayuse where you can book hotel rooms just for the day or blocks of 3/6/9 hours. Most hotels will offer day bookings if you ask and it’s often quite reasonably priced in comparison to an overnight stay.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 06/03/2020 23:25

Why can’t you sleep at home?

joan12 · 06/03/2020 23:25

I went to the spa in the hotel at St Pancras. It was bliss.

DdraigGoch · 06/03/2020 23:27

How about the House of Lords?

RaisinsRuinEverything · 06/03/2020 23:31

Do you have any friends in London? If so can you ask them if you could stay there during the day?

Lndnmummy · 06/03/2020 23:32

I can’t sleep at home as I have two children here with chickenpox. My dad is terminally ill and I’m up to my eyeballs at work. I’m on my knees. My husband has taken the day off so I can go and just rest somewhere. We live in a flat and I just need not to be in it for one day. Just one day

Budget ideally around £100.00, can’t stretch much further than that at the moment. Thank you for your lovely ideas, keep them coming.
@SlackerMum1 which SPA does a sleep room?
Thanks

Whereabouts will you be op?

Lndnmummy · 06/03/2020 23:34

Yes thought about the friends thing but most of them are at home with little ones. In the nicest possible way. I’d like to not be around babies. I have a friend who I could ask actually but she has recently returned from a skiing trip in Northern Italy. Will give that one a miss I think 😬

ESPA at the Corinthia Hotel. I think you can stay all day with lunch for £170 so pricey but worth it!

SlackerMum1 · 06/03/2020 23:35

And sounds like you can definitely use it!

Lndnmummy · 06/03/2020 23:35

I’m in SE London so pref South London or the city (to maximise sleep time). I know how obsessive this sounds. I even dreamed of having another keyhole surgery on my jaw just so that I could have a GA.Blush

Try dayrooms.com - it'll tell you which hotels sell rooms during the day

maggiecate · 06/03/2020 23:40

I googled ‘Day hotels London’ and it brought up this site: www.dayuse.co.uk/

goodgodlemon · 06/03/2020 23:42

That made me laugh about having surgery! I know what you mean - i was once so exhausted and stressed out I fell asleep having root canal work !!

Embracelife · 06/03/2020 23:46

Hilton london Croydon comes in at 62 for thursday to Friday...you could go at 12 leave in e eveing or in morning or ask for a price from 10.00

TinklyLittleLaugh · 07/03/2020 00:23

Well at the very least you have a decent husband OP. Could you bear to stay in your flat if your husband took your DC to his parents, for instance? (assuming the chicken pox is not making them too poorly.

Just thinking that from my own point of view I always sleep a million times better at home.

Sorry you are having such a horrible time.
